The included demo scene(import optional) uses the standard shader (from the Built-In Render Pipeline) for the terrain. To make the terrain shader compile in URP or HDRP you need to upgrade the material with Unity's material upgrade tool. (Edit/Render Pipeline/.../Upgrade from Builtin Pipeline/...)
