Amazing visuals, easy to adopt, excellent support!

Radiant GI is a super easy way to beef up your game visuals and make your game look less like "a Unity game". Adoption is straightforward, the settings are extremely customizable, performance is great, and the author responded to a question I had within minutes. You won't regret buying this :)

Looks really good but doesn't really work for game development

I'm a big fan of Kronnect assets and this one looks beautiful and is very well documented... I just can't imagine a game that's able to make decent use of it.
It's great for static scenes but as soon as you get anything more than the slow steady movement in the demo scenes it completely falls apart.
I went into it expecting there to be limitations with screen space GI and I was completely aware that I wouldn't want to use it for very fast paced games or FPSs but I'm still not just disappointed but completely perplexed by what kind of game is able to make use of this at all.

Since this review, we've released a major update to Radiant Global Illumination that significantly improves stability, reduces artifacts in dynamic scenes, and adds powerful new features, including full support for Adaptive Probe Volumes (APV). This helps blend real-time screen-space GI with Unity's baked probe system for even better results in varied scenarios.
To directly address your concerns, Radiant GI provides a practical real-time GI solution that adds subtle indirect illumination to enhance visual quality without the overhead of lightmap baking, making it particularly valuable for games with dynamic content, procedural geometry, or where traditional baking isn't feasible.
Features like Virtual Emitters (super fast off-screen lighting simulation) and Organic Lighting variations remain lightweight and help maintain natural looks without baking.

It seems that it will randomly fail when used with other plugins.

When used together with the Volumetric Lights 2 plugin, it causes the GI to fail. Is there any way to solve this problem?

Poor Quality When Camera Moves

I bought this asset to get real-time GI, and I’m disappointed. It’s not good when the camera moves in a first-person perspective; the results are not accurate. I tried and understood its settings by watching the author’s YouTube video, but I tried different settings but no fix. the asset is not worth $50. Unity's built-in real-time GI can achieve better accuracy without this.
So why would anyone buy this asset? In my opinion, it’s only useful for static scenes. I’m open to changing my review if the author provides a solution, but as far as I know, I’ve tried every setting to fix the issues. It feels like $50 wasted.

Radiant offers unique advantages, such as instant GI, requiring no pre-processing (baking) and being compatible with all types of geometries, including procedurally generated levels or dynamically created objects—something that other GI solutions often cannot achieve.
As all screen-space global illumination techniques including Unreal’s one for example, Radiant cannot account for light sources that are not visible in the current camera view. To address this, Radiant includes several fallback options, such as Virtual Emitters, which allow you to provide world-space light emitter information to Radiant, solving this issue. More impressed in project than the preview images. The video tutorial was very useful to onboard and understand parameters. This helped me set it up within minutes. So far its run well with great performance and it's implemented in a scene running simultaneously with volumetric light and shiny ssr from Kronnect.

When I added this asset to my project I was simply impressed of how much it added to the visuals.
Without it my scenes looked bland, which this asset completely changed. If you have a dynamic game, and therefore have a hard time baking lightmaps, get this asset. Seriously, I tried other solutions before this and none of the other left me impressed. This asset is incredibly stable and performant, which isn't the case in most of the competition.
