I will not invest my time in an asset with no future updates or support. It would have been ultimate best solution for visual scripting. too bad you are no longer going to support this asset.

This asset is really perhaps the most robust of the options for visual scripting for Unity, but to see no response from the developer to see that support is being pulled really breaks our hearts. I would very much like to see the developer issue some kind of a statement about this and its future. There are rumors of it being open sourced on GitHub and if so, will Unity take over? I think this could be perhaps the best option if the developer really has let go of things.

Almost good asset, but no support - Do not buy

Nottorus has a lot of great features for grafic scripting. But for $ 150 no support is a no go! The official end "April 2018" is a joke. But more is a joke, that the support ends months before. No comments from the maker.

It's very bad that "Official support expires on April 2018". It's obvious that it is not normal, that support is so short that it is very bad. The tool that cost 150$ and no support, no... Don't Buy this product until unity team will buy this asset.

This product does not live up to it's description. "This plugin allows designers, artists and programmers without any limitation create C# scripts of any complexity," The software is so badly optimized, that it will crash a normal CPU with scripts of a modest complexity. Not the script it self, but the editor. "Without any limitation means you can create any code as well as programmers do." In reality, this means you can make any Hello-World-sized code limitless, but the software will grind to a hault if you try being creative. Again, the compiled scripts are fine, but the editor will require so much CPU power that it locks up your entire PC. "Even this plugin can be written on this plugin" Maybe if you split your code into 10-node functions, so the editor doesn't freeze up. But that is counter-productive. And even so, the rest of the bugs (like the editor window disappearing permanently) or the fact that support is not provided for payint customers, will definately destroy your dreams of being even slightly productive. I have contacted the creator of this asset, with no reply. I have also reported this asset to Unity, but it is still being sold.

There are a lot of visual scripting tools out for Unity, but none of them work quite like this one. It actually outputs clean and readable code, which makes you not dependent on Nottorus for your project to work (that is great!). In all my tests I have done so far I have found that working in the graph view feels good, and I have had no issues with instability or slow performance. Its true that there is not a lot of training material aimed specifically at Nottorus, but when you work with Nottorus, you are making what is essentially a 1 to 1 visual equivalent of C# just with visual nodes. So the only thing you really need to learn is the interface, and the rest you can learn by just using normal tutorials for C# in Unity. I also found the parser to be very helpful for learning. If you find a piece of C# code that you are unsure how to implement in Nottorus then just run it through the parser and it will spit out the node equivalent for that script (it feels a bit like cheating, but its great when learning). The only small issue that I have with it is that searching for the right node can be confusing at first simply because of the amount of assemblies it has to go through. (This is the same issue in other Visual Scripting tools like Bolt and FlowCanvas) Luckily you can narrow down your results by typing for example "translate.position " instead just "position" + you can also save nodes out to a "favorites" list which helps a lot. I have no problem recommending Nottorus. It’s a solid and very well put together tool. If you can afford it then I would say go for it.

Unityのビジュアルプログラミングツールはいくつかありますが、 Nottorusがその中で良いと思える点は2つ ・C#のソースコードが出力される ・C#のソースコードを逆に取り込んで解析してくれる(機能はベータ版) ビジュアルで組んだロジックがC#のソースコードとして 出力されるので、そのソースコードを見てC#を学ぶことができ、 逆に既存のソースコードを取り込んで解析もできるので、 このソースコードがどういうロジックになっているかを 視覚的に学ぶこともできます。 他のビジュアルプログラミングツールよりも高めですが、 ノンプログラミングで制作できるだけでなく、 プログラミング初心者にとっても今後C#を学ぶうえで 役に立つツールだといえます。

AAA+++ true Unity and C# scripting on a powerfull visual script editor Just needs proper tutorials for "beginners" in Unity scripting ASAP , thats all. (6 years of experience using Playmaker took it to the absolute max and now i hitting limitations all around , BUT i find it hard to use Nottorus as video tutorials are nowhere to be found , exept a few).

The tool does as advertised. I'd recommend it, but not strongly due to the harsh entry level. Inorder to use the tool, you either need to know what you're doing, or research a bunch to get it working. That said, there hardly any tutorials for this. There are some text docs on the creators site, but that's the extent the creator went to show how to use his plugin. I've found maybe 15 videos explaining some things, which if this plugin wants to take off, it needs more direct support from the creator in terms of usage. The background grid could use improvement, it only looks nice while zoomed in, if you zoom out, it quickly falls apart, would be nice if it kept a clean appearance like in other editors such as Amplify ShaderEditor. Context sensitive nodes would be nice, getting the correct version of a node isn't always a breeze, even if you know the exact name. Some things I can do in a normal C# script, but in this tool, I can't figure out due to how some nodes are. Some bugs need to be ironed out. I had a script I had to scrap due to a referenced variable not showing up. There were two variables in a script, only one would show up, regardless of the settings, remaking both scripts was the only workaround for what I'd asume to be a bug.
