Visually stunning, but has critical technical limitations

Visually, the simulation is top-tier. The water looks amazing and behaves realistically in terms of visuals. However, integrating it into actual gameplay logic is painful due to three major issues: No Runtime Collider Injection: It is impossible to add new colliders to the simulation at runtime without restarting it completely. This forces me to build complex workarounds (object pooling/pre-warming) just to spawn items dynamically. Unstable Floating Physics: I cannot achieve stable buoyancy for floating objects. Objects either get stuck to the floor and refuse to float up, or if they do float, they jitter and bounce uncontrollably. I’ve spent hours tweaking Solver and Rigidbody settings (even with Interaction Force set to 0), but nothing helps. Editor UI Bugs: When moving the Zibra object between scenes, the Inspector UI often breaks, making it impossible to view or add new colliders to the list. Great potential, but the interaction physics and workflow, unfortunately, really upset me.

You can use either Order Number or Invoice Number to get your license key. But if you still have any issues with it, please reach out to support@zibra.ai with your order number.

Doesn't work with HDRP correctly

This asset uses high intensity emission HDRI materials, if you have physically based sky environment/exposure on your scene it will just glow and break your lightning setup. I hope the devs will fix it.

If you've been following it: I once gave the asset 5 stars. Why one now? Quite simply: "Subscription format with external license." At the top right it says: "Unity standard license." Honestly, I'd almost should ask for my money back. The explanation: My purchased package was 1.5.2 · December 13, 2020, and was originally a **STANDARD UNITY EULA** license. At some point in the meantime, "Zibra" finally decided to release the "Smoke and Fire" pack. Fine by me. It was already subject to different registration information and a "DLC" character. (Want something? Buy it separately.) This... is a subsequent change, though. The 1.5.2 package, the one I originally purchased, **WITHOUT DRM**, was then: "no longer supported." I want to say a little bit about that. So: Originally, we're the ones who develop games. Selling assets, which has "on average" now become a better business than the actual programming and preparation, working through the years you put into a game, is one issue. The constant price increases are another. But the constant "outsourcing of licenses" is the most annoying. So everyone who grew up with Unity tries to park their licenses outside of the asset store. Then the "This pack is no longer supported, pay more to use the new one" mentality started. I also no longer support those asset providers who then charge fees for an "update" version. I'm not buying any more, that's out of the question. And the third thing that came along was the "subscribe" format, which is becoming increasingly brazen, at every turn. The privilege of saying that you can and are allowed to offer your content for sale to others has exploded into a "business" that demands that the actual developer, the one who sees the least of the whole pie, pay at every turn, and then, in return, gets a "player" who is no longer satisfied with anything and who attacks you like a horde of locusts. In many places, this has simply become a form of enrichment. People: Honestly. I'm not willing to register anywhere. Out of the question. And I don't support any stores outside of the Unity Asset Store. None at all. No matter which ones. Out of the question! I have my stuff here under one roof, and I also want to support Unity, because Unity was what made this possible for you! I'd also like to point out again that this is still a net price. A typical indie game title costs between $6 and $12. That's what we're allowed to charge after years of work, if it's a bit bigger. You're already charging a +AAA full price, and then an extra subscription? No. Sorry, I'm out. Quite frankly: out. Hence the downgrade. It used to be a beautiful asset. For me, it was the most beautiful water simulation we had in Unity. But with DRM and extra registration, third-party shop support, and, best of all, paid licenses at the mercy of Zibra, it's unusable. 1 / 5 stars. Very bad change.

Hello and thanks for your review, First of all, "Zibra Liquid" is one time purchase asset. If you purchased it, or old "Zibra Liquids" package, you get access to the latest version of "Zibra Liquid". If your account has old "Zibra Liquids" purchased, new "Zibra Liquid" is free to add to your account via Unity Asset Store. Both, now deprecated "Zibra Liquids", and current "Zibra Liquid" are indeed published with Standard Unity EULA and do not require any kind of subscription fees. As for DRM: activating the plugin and DRM is only required for NeuralSDF generation feature, as it is performed on online server, and that server needs to ensure that requests come from legitimate users. Even in the event that you don't have internet, or our activation servers are inaccessible, you'll be able to access most of the functionality of the plugin. As for 1.5.2 package - it has exact same "amount of DRM" as previously described. And the reason for it no longer being supported, is because updates are now available via new "Zibra Liquid" package that available for old users at no charge. Also, it is worth mentioning that DRM is only present in Editor, we do not add any kind of DRM to builds. If you build your game with Zibra Smoke & Fire, it will just always work, including offline.

Even in the event that you don't have internet, or our activation servers are inaccessible, you'll be able to access most of the functionality of the plugin. For changing computers: If you haven't used one of your computers for a while, license is automatically released and is available to be used on another computer. But if you run into any problems with it, you can always reach out to us at support@zibra.ai and we'll help you to move your license. Also, it is worth mentioning that DRM is only present in Editor, we do not add any kind of DRM to builds. If you build your game with Zibra Liquid, it will just always work, including offline.

Great asset, but crappy DRM

I really wanted to give this a 5/5 since the effects it can achieve is amazing and looks good. Only problem: Activation. It breaks from time to time and well, means I can't use this thing I bought because of artificial limitations enforced by Zibra. If Zibra wants invasive and always-online activation... Then they'd better make sure it's 100% uptime. Otherwise, this one mistake has made a 5/5 product into 1/5 and you're better off picking literally anything else or coding your own. Also, they keep on changing their backend for some reason... We all know that agile + 100% uptime don't exactly go well together.
