Disappointing lack of support for Unity 6 given the price tag
16 days ago
danteahn90on previous version 2.6.4c
At $89, this asset is by no means cheap. However, the user experience in Unity 6 is incredibly frustrating. It is very unkind to users that we have to manually fix shaders, rendering pipelines, and input settings just to get it running in the latest engine. I don't understand why the developers haven't officially updated it for Unity 6 yet. There are far too many manual modifications required for a premium-priced asset. It’s a powerful tool once it works, but the initial setup is a nightmare for 1-man developers.

Give another try, we just update the asset to fully support Unity 6.0 to 6.3

Amazing asset!

GenWorldTVon previous version 2.6.4c
So this has been a great asset to get up and running on my project, but getting it work with New Input System is a nightmare. Hope that is coming in the pipeline soon. Until then 4 stars, will give a clean 5 for that functionality.

Good but...

djsound1985on previous version 2.6.4c
I have few character controllers and I've never seen so overcomplicated and annoying weapon adjustment tool. It looks good and easy on the video but when you start to adjust weapon... It's a f**king nightmare. I gave up and stick to the melee weapons.

There could be a issue with your character rig, our IK Adjust system works pretty well on most character we've tested and users seems to adjust their character just fine based on our feedback. We can help you figure it out, please send a video showing the issue to support@invector.xyz

Great Asset, But Hoping for Unity 6 Support Soon
7 months ago
cat3515on previous version 2.6.4c
I want to start by saying that I really appreciate the effort and creativity that went into developing this asset—it's clear a lot of hard work and thought has been put into it. However, I’m currently working with Unity 6, and unfortunately, I’ve run into compatibility issues that prevent me from using the asset as intended. I hope there might be plans for an update or support for Unity 6 in the future, as I would love to continue using this great tool. Thank you for your dedication and for considering feedback from users like me!

Can you send us a email with more details of your issues? We're currently using the template on a Unity 6 project and there are no issues so far

Dissapointing

JDKeele9225on previous version 2.6.4c
If you're brand new, with no experience looking to make a medieval fantasy rpg game with few changes to what they provide, this template would be alright. Not making changes outside their parameters is highly recommended. Seeing as how this is called a shooter template, I expected a template geared more toward shooter games. Instead it seems to be fantasy rpg with guns slipped into the mix. Just slapped shooter options into their melee template, instead of building a separate template geared toward a shooter style game. With the age of the product, and the price, you would think they would have worked out the little kinks, like the odd animation drawing your pistol, or the inventory getting locked up and confused, ect. This isn't what I was expecting, and have no use for it.

A handy asset with a lengthly history of quality
a year ago
deathwatchgamingson previous version 2.6.4c
A simply valued quality based controller series that is simply easy to implement in most cases and leaves little room for most complaints. Handy in many varieties of usages and implementations, without a doubt. Also, plenty of valued additional resources can be found of value at the community forums, regardless if the activity there at times seems to have died off or became nonexistent in some cases. Some minor things after extended usages of the controller series and add-ons is for example the lack of support for new input system and the previous promise from authors that such transition was coming in 2024 that seems to not have come to fruition being that 2024 is over in a few short weeks. Also, one would hope that the existing controller support would have not been solely focussed this whole time on only Xbox and after some time they would have addressed the other popular industry standard controller. Though, following through with the promised new input system conversion would have solved a lot of the aforementioned issues most likely and also made such more current and more compatibility with a wider variety of assets in this day that are dependent on such input system. Also, the issues with some external assets used for input control and the conflicts with this controller "as is" in current states is something to be aware of if one takes the time to read such issues mentioned in various forums discussions. Regardless of some of those issues mentioned, while such is important to note it does not necessarily detract much from the still existing value found in this asset as there is still plenty of value in the Invector controller series and such is still a viable choice for many hoping for a quality controller with a long history and some handy valued extensions to such say to implement into their existing projects...

Wondering if the support forum is still alive?
mistywidowon previous version 2.6.4c
When I purchased this the support forum was not alive for a while and had to leave Unity. Now I found it seems alive. 購入当初は過疎化していたフォーラムが今確認するとサポート運営されているようで評価を変更しました。

Without a shadow of a doubt the best asset I've ever purchased
a year ago
kyrowareon previous version 2.6.4b
Without this asset the game I'm currently making simply wouldn't be possible. The foundation that this template has laid has allowed me to develop a project far more ambitious than I should be able to. That isn't to say that it hasn't needed some expanding here and there and the occasional tweak to the source code but the fact is that no other asset on the store does what this can do to the same (near AAA) quality and with as easy to pick up methodologies. Also, the documentation is decent - it could use a little more detail here or there but it explains things well enough. If you're making an action game then this asset is an essential time saver.

Usable Asset, But Too Many Issues to Fix
Konijimaon previous version 2.6.4b
The asset has a solid foundation and offers a lot of features to help kickstart a game. However, it didn’t quite live up to my expectations based on the promotional material. There are some issues with character locomotion, such as walking glitches, missing rotation animations, and footsteps that don’t match well with the movements. Additionally, some audio features, like running and reloading sounds, could use refinement for a more polished feel. The various components are somewhat overwhelming, and the organization could be improved to make it easier to navigate and customize. That said, this asset might be a good fit for beginners who want a quick and straightforward way to get started on a shooter project. For developers looking for a more professional solution, it may require a lot of tweaking to achieve the desired result. In my case, I’ve decided to request a refund and will explore other options that better suit my needs, like Synty, which offers more realistic character movement out of the box.

Like the title suggests, this is a Template that comes with examples for everything but we encourage users to customize as much as possible, that means replacing animations, sounds, effects, etc... So you can have a more unique game. We provide a solid base but you need to customize it, otherwise all indie games would look the same. If you find any bugs, please do report to us at support@invector.xyz We're always listening to our customers and doing improvements and bug fixes based on their feedback.
