I reported an issue on Discord on May 7, and there has been no feedback to this day. On my very first use, I encountered a fatal beginner-level bug. The functionality of this plugin could easily be achieved with free assets. This is nothing short of a scam.

It offers some very basic AI detection/chase mechanics, but they seem sluggish. Hasn't been updated in almost a year. The documentation hasn't been updated in almost 2 years. I think I got this 50% off and still feel like I over paid.

Okay asset

The node canvas is impressive and all but the actual functionality is meh. The tutorials show you how to create a simple move to target AI that anyone could make in 10 minutes with a finite state machine. If you have no coding experience I could see how this is useful, but if you need advanced AI behaviour you should look elsewhere.

My Review and a minor bug

Hello, I want to say that this asset is amazing, and I was able to make it work for my multiplayer project (with Fishnet Networking) and for my Singleplayer project, and it is easy to setup. Now, I have noticed a bug in the inspector of the Engine, for instance, when I Serialize a List or an Array in a random script I create, the buttons in the inspector (the + and the -) they no longer appear. And it becomes an hassle to work with Lists and Arrays in the inspector, afterwards, I setup an empty project and installed this asset just to test it, and that happened. I advice you, to look at your custom Editor and Property Drawers, as the problem most likely is residing there. Just reporting the bug, so you know about that :)

This asset was easy for me to learn and implement, and although I'm not very skilled in creating functionality (I'm a 3D artist, but I'm learning!) I was quickly able to create the behaviors that I needed. I haven't found anything negative to mention, thanks for this powerful asset!

Top Behavior Tree on store with some UI caveats

This is amazing replacement if you came from Unreal Engine, the trees work, what is better, they use scriptable objects in the background, so renaming any of your classes does not break anything. Performance is solid. One big issue is regarding the UI. The UI is not a single unity window as for example as in BehaviorDesigner or Animator window as you know it, but each part of the asset: blackboard, node editor, inspector, is all separate windows, which makes it extremely hard to just open during runtime, select your unit and debug it, as you must open XY other windows. Developer has added a way to "auto open" all windows, but the biggest issue remains, you cannot just drag this into other monitor, or to the side of the screen, as in unity you cannot drag and move group of windows, only single one. So if you wanna debug or edit some stuff, you need to go through rigorous setup to move and undock all windows and set them up each time. If this issue gets addressed and developer introduces single unity window that contains all this mini-windows inside it, it would be a life changer for usage and UX.

Thanks for the feedback! This is a good idea, we will definitely take note of it! Why can't you move the entire window with subwindows? This is a basic Unity feature. You can open the Behavior Tree window and dock all the other windows you need to it. Then move them all as one.

Update: Developers have made updates - solved many of the issues I had. Great asset :) Old Review: I'd like to say this is probably one of the most intuitive BT tool out there, mostly because of its similarities in appearance to Unreal. It feels pretty well done, the documentation is interesting, and it has a community on the surface. I spent a few days testing this to see if we could implement it large scale and on first impressions - I really wanted to like this. Unfortunately there are a few major issues that make this a little unreliable, but if they were fixed would make this our go to solution. Firstly, community. When I first dropped in to the discord, things looked very good, historically it seemed like there was good support and a decent community. This however was probably my largest letdown. Support itself almost feels nonexistent and this was the first time I've ever felt completely ignored. There are of course developers like JBooth who people have a bone to pick because he is very blunt, however he at least responds. Unfortunately as you'll see, there were a few major issues I ran into while testing AI Tree that just were never responded to, even when I included full bug reports and sometimes even the full solution to the fix. This was a major letdown, and I only ever received one response and then radio silence after spending a day doing additional testing to narrow down the unity version of the issue. Secondly, one of the main blockers that prevents us on the technical side from using AI Tree are the issues with how they're handling keyboard inputs. It seems like it is constantly breaking across versions and most recently in 2022.3.19f. As we primarily use the latest 2022 LTS this means we are unable to do copy and pastes across large AI tree node structures which makes this workflow not viable and the reliability of this is a major issue. Thirdly, while not a major technical blocker there are slight edge case issues that need to be fixed with UI that just mean this product feels like its 95% there but not 100%. For example an issue during my testing that I noticed with KeyQueries where they are being displayed incorrectly in the wrong Categories when using nested folders. In all, this is something I really, really wanted to use and like, however a few issues with support left a slightly bad taste in my mouth, and the overall product just feels like its 90-95% there to being perfect. If some of those issues I've addressed are fixed, this would definitely be an asset deserving of 5 stars but as of now I'll just have to monitor and for reliability's sake utilize other options.

Sometimes there are big discussions between clients) Because of which some messages may remain unnoticed in history, if we suddenly missed your message, duplicate it, or better highlight the name of any developer so that we definitely do not miss it. Edit: We have fixed all the bugs you described, update to newest version 1.9.3.

As someone who uses Unreal Engine, I thought it looked interesting and similar to BehaviorTree, so I bought it. It's certainly simple and easy to use. The other thing is that there is too little explanation on how to use it with A*PathfindingProject. I don't understand English so I would like a tutorial on Youtube
