Using this asset makes otherwise complex AI behaviors and decisions easier! Handling AI with custom made decisions and events is possible with no earlier experience on AI coding. Very much recommended.

I have a light coding background, but I really had no concept of how to apply code to video games, and I've never worked with C#. This asset taught me the basics of game development. This pack comes with a huge number of scripts to get a top down game working. I feel like most of my frustrations have been on the side of learning Unity rather than with this asset. As I've interacted with the code and the engine, I've gained enough confidence to begin implementing my own scripts. I had one really big hang-up, so I reached out to the discord after spending a long time trying to troubleshoot. Within 3-5 minutes, one of the developers responded and helped me fix the problem almost immediately. It was, again, a Unity problem and not a TDE problem. They always respond quickly and are genuinely personable. If you want to do something really exotic, you may have to add some script of your own. However, this supports so many features. Even if you get a little stuck, it's usually worth figuring out the native solution to your problem. I will absolutely be supporting More Mountains again with one of their other engines.

"Compatible with UNITY 6"— It is, but only if Unity was a solid product. After Unity Update (latest release 2 days ago): The latest Unity update resolved the problem for me. I can now focus on reviewing the product. --- Before Unity Update: I bought this expecting at least some working scenes, but none of them worked. I installed everything and followed the “Using Unity’s new input system” guidelines, yet my characters still wouldn’t move. It felt like I had to do all the work myself just to get it running. Maybe it was me, but for $70, I shouldn’t have to deal with this.

I've been working on a Top Down perspective game and I'm not exagerating when I tell you this assets it's a absolute life savior. It contains the systems you would need for everything regarding moving, chameras, orientation, combat, feedback, character abilities, and many other feaures I'm yet to discover. If you're a novice devolper, it's amazing. This engine allows a ton of customization without the need of coding. But, if you know how to code, it's even better! Seriously, give it a try.

This engine is fantastic. It covers all the essential features needed for a top-down action game. Even the demo scenes already feel like a complete game, showcasing its great potential. Support is also very active on Discord, and the community is lively and helpful. Although my own game is still in development, I believe that with the power of this TopDown Engine, I will be able to reach the finish line.

This is a great way to ease into development in Unity. You can start developing a game while you learn. The accompanying video channel is central to this. Obviously, the more skills you have, the more you can take advantage of it. I chose the 2D top down style in this asset simply because the aiming is more intuitive to me.

I've been using TDE for years, it is a huge package that includes everything you need to create a game. The foundations are solid and the examples and scripts are all well documented. Most of them are extendable and ready to scale and adapt to your project. The other systems such as Feedback or Events are also masterfully crafted and helped me in many non-topdown projects. The vast amount of features, the careful construction and the user-first way of scripting and documenting prove the hard work and love that was put into making this asset.
