Exactly what i want!

ZengFx2on version 1.5.5
It can generate terrain randomly! and with hex grids. It contains pathfinding too. It contains river too. It's not perfect, but a very good start and spiration. Thank you so much! Sad that it's not maintained any more though.

Works in 2021.3.2

Linuson version 1.5.5
This asset now works out of the box, as intended. Even the shaders worked. You will need to do some manual fixes to the A* package, or update the A* package. I did not update the package as I was only testing the demo scenes. Definitely worth a download if your considering making a hex game. To bad it was abandoned, but they made it free. And a great learning tool, and starting point

A good asset, but not a framework.

simonlspon version 1.5.5
This is a good asset to study code or to fork from. But not a framework to be directly used.

Kondor0on version 1.5.5
It lacks options and flexibility, it seems they just dropped an early version of the tool they used for their game here without any effort to make it more accesible. I'm an experienced programmer and it's gonna take me a lot of work to get it in a usable state, if you are not an experienced coder don't even bother.

This package has everything you need to roll your own hex-based game, but you will need to know your way around C# programming in Unity to make any of it work. Documentation is minimal and largely comes in the form of code-based examples. I do not recommend HHF if you are inexperienced with programming Unity C#. However, if you're knowledgeable in working with GameObjects and finding components to modify objects iteratively, HHF does a whole lot of the heavy lifting for you, and lets you get to building the core systems and components of your game.

Nice Framework, promises of things to come never materialising...
HobieKenobion version 1.5.5
When I first got this asset, when it was first released years ago, I was a novice at progamming, so it's something I've left and come back to several times as my skills have increased. I've learnt alot from this package and am finally getting to use it as it should be used. It's a framework that with alot of adaptation could be made to work for your particular project. The dissapointing thing about this package is that as with so many other assets there was alot of talk about more to come, indeed a whole new better, faster system was forever on the horizon....permanately and infact it still is and always will be because they have officially drop it and the only reply you'll get through the support forum is to questions on have they dropped it, lol, and the answer is yes. BUT as it is, it's a nice basic framework to build on, just don't expect any dev support.. Thats said I still give it a 5, then subtract 2 for goals promised and not met and then add one because it's a good learning tool and that's the way I roll.

Very good, but not a Framework
Netbanditon previous version 1.5.3
It makes exactly what you can see on the images an videos. It is a very nice hex-map with random tile textures. It has a basic support for moving actors on the map and some quick and dirty implantation for map-markers (borders, streets, ...). It is the perfect starting point, if you want to implement a hex based strategy game. Within some hours you have a nice prototype map, which looks very nice and works out of the box. Furthermore it is very good in terms of performance. But it is not a Framework: It is not very flexible, if you need to do the things a little bit different. It is more a good working example implementation for a hex-map, which has been stress tested in a real game (Thea: The Awakening). Take it, adapt the code to your needs and plug in into your game to get a very nice and fast map rendering. But do not expect much documentation or a flexible and universal interface. Often you need to look at the code to understand how to use something and for sure you need to adapt the code for your own needs. Thus you must be a good C# programmer to work with it. So for me it was a perfect deal, but I think the real character of this asset (not a framework but an example implementation) needs to be highlighted more. That's why just 4 stars.

No support - Does NOT work in Unity 5.5
etoreoon previous version 1.5.2
The developer has not made any (much needed) updates to this package in over a year at the time of this writing. It does not even render correctly with the latest version of Unity. The developer won't respond on the support forums. Don't waist your money.

Hi, sorry for late reply. Honey has just been updated to fix water issues in Unity 5.5. If there are any issues, please shoot me an e-mail as sadly the forum often fails to inform me about new threads :(
