Even if you're good at math and don't wan't to rip your head off on grid bounded positioning calculation, this asset is for you. I think we should have more assets like this one. I've tested multiple assets for this kind of functionality, but they always force you to make things their way or propose an already made game that doesn't fit your needs. For this framework that isn't the case. You get a fully functional set of tools that you can extend (even if you're a newbie), and there are enough examples to help you kickstart lots of kind of projects. I would have paid at least twice the price for this. The only thing missing in my opinion is an A* star generic implementation but I won't complain. I'd say it's by far the better asset I've seen so far. Thanks.

I bought this for its Playmaker support, and the alleged grid abilities. Its mostly getting one star because the documentation is terrible and it doesn't work correctly. I had to hunt through pages and pages of forum posts just to figure out how to enable the Playmaker support... There are a TON of Playmaker actions.... due to the lack of documentation I could only guess what they did. The functions I tried to use, didn't even work in the end anyway so a huge waste of time and money. It might be a "framework", but its useless. There are essential functions missing you would expect a grid system "framework" to have.. like measurement! There isn't anything to get data for surrounding grid nodes either, nor is there anything for setting up and aligning the grid correctly... If you are hoping to somehow use this as the base for some kind of A* it wont happen. You are better off generating a grid yourself.

I cant possible believe that a plugin which implement a Grid System is not capable of implement a Componentized system to make it easy to move objects through the Grid. Someone said before that this is a Plugin for Coders. Its not about being a plugin for coders, its about missing VERY IMPORTANT features that a "Framework" like that MUST provide. I miss a component to allow my gameObjects to Understand a given Grid and move through it using a friendly inspector interface and a simple API for Objects, like: enemy.goTo(1,0,0) enemy.walkLeft() enemy.walkRight() enemy.walkUp() enemy.walkDown() Cant believe there is nothing like that already pre-build and plug n play.. It would be amazing if it had.

This is a package for coders. It build abstract grids that can be used in editor and runtime to align objects. A must have to align objects in building games!

This asset, together with the support I received from the author, helped me achieve something that was relativley easy thanks to the code he created, but would have been extremely difficult (perhaps impossible) for me to do alone. Thanks to this product, I can continue working on other aspects of my project that are more in line with my current skillset. I highly recommend this to anyone who is trying to make a grid based game.

This is the best Grid product for the price. Add to that the excellent tech support. The author promptly responds to your questions and even gives you code snippets to help you along. Worth every penny. 5 Stars! Syed

Baught this asset over a year ago because it was on sale and I was of and on with this asset and progrid. I now use both! I just recently got a chance to fully learn this asset and I found I could have made my life alot easier had if I used it on my other project. Thanks to the developer for keeping this asset up to date and well maintained. Grid base games and projects that require uniform align should not do without an asselt such as these because it sole purpose is to to eliminate guess work. Good job dev!

keep getting errors

IT MUST BE ME, but I keep getting lots of errors. Latest: Assets/Grid Framework/Examples/Terrain Mesh Generation/TerrainMeshBuilder.cs(2,7): error CS0246: The type or namespace name `UnityEditor' could not be found. Are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference? any ideas?
