To date this is the only asset I have bought that I am not happy with for quite a few reasons. There is an odd red vein in the textures that makes these caves unfit for most games, the red vein also makes it so that there are noticable seems all over the place. The caves themselves are not very high qaulity either. You could get somethign of similar qaulity by buying a 5-10 dollar rock assets and crudely placing them next to each other to make a floor some walls and a ceiling, in fact if you are thinking of gettign this I would actually recomend doing that as that is all this is. Which in itself would be okay except for the fact that this makes the caves very sqaure in most places. There is also a lack of instructions all I coudl find was a video on vimeo that just kept repeating itself, drag with nothing behind to snap, not sure what the hell that is supposed to mean because I cant get the prefabs to snap to a damn thing. All in all it is a very shoddy asset that I wish I had not gotten and 40$ is way too high a price for this. Work was obviously put into it but as it stands I can't recomend this. If you are looking at it I would highly recomend looking for somethign else.

Love this Asset!

Caves are my favorite places to run. This asset is well made, some little tiny glitches in the meshes as stated by other reviewers however so minor only a very penickity person would say it. For the price AWESOME! Also, I had a few errors getting it up and running and the author helped me sort it in minutes!! Great work!! Walking through the scenes is almost eerie, flickering firelight and so many other goodies. Of course I've added my own assets and am now experimenting with the many configurations one can apply. This is what Unity assets is really all about. My favorite is the flying cabin, what an incredible addition!! Well done MotuProprio you are a great developer!!

Looks and works great. Only reason I gave it 4 starts is because displaying the prefab image in the Asset Inventory it's really hard to read the item titles because they put white text on gray background. Would be nice if I could change it to dark blue or black because when the inspector can't display a image it shows a big ? mark.

Exactly what I expected

The models and textures provided were great - the other reviews are right that this is more of a modular tunnel system than a generic kit, however the comments about holes are a bit overblown. There are some gaps in the prefabs that you may run across, but it's not much trouble to shift one of the sub-objects to cover it up or throw an asset over them if it's somewhere reasonable. 4096 source textures are provided for diffuse maps (not just scaled up) Two normal maps are used to gain the extra bump fidelity you'll see in the previews I wouldn't recommend using them as-is for mobile dev but for pc/console these are going to work very well. I was also surprised to see rats and bats included and flying around, that was a nice touch. to publisher: since you already have the prefab link points, maybe add a script that could randomly assemble them for people so they could better understand how the parts could be used. Edit: I got a chance to look closer at the included collision proxies, they definitely could use a lot of simplification - it'd be a great addition to a fantastic looking asset.

Iif you are not a beginner ,creative and looking for a realistic looking but at the same time cheap cave pack then this might be for you. I`ve read some reviews here and people claim they are too many holes. Well yes, but this is not a big problem for me, only some extra work. Also, the demo is very laggy, but with the right tweaking you get get it to run smooth. I personally believe this is a good package, but not for everyone. Just buy it if you really want and need this. Also, setting up a pathfinding system and moving in general is really hard. So,i would rate this a 7.5/10. , but good enough for a 5/5

My thoughts on this pack

Kia ora Secret Studios, Bradly Danyluk, Benjamin Brown said it all much better than I could That said, I'm from an Elderscrolls syle of game and I'd love to see how these scale to third person chars at what id a normal Unity scale. I think a demo video bad memory) had third person in it but I don't know if they had to upscalle all the parts for that or the correct size is standard. Maybe that jus a mind set of somebody really new to Unity.

Great and huge Asset

In my opinion this Asset is really worth it's price. It has everything you need for a pretty realistic looking cave, e.g. rocks, some animals and wooden structures. All the models are high-quality and look realistic. What I also liked are these little "gems" on each cave part, which help you to snap the parts to each other. Also the support is fantastic: I wrote an E-Mail today morning about a problem and got an answer just a few hours later. I think you can use this asset in many different projects, whether it's a RPG, a horror game or a adventure game. To sum up I can highly recommend this asset to anyone who needs some cool "cave-ambience" in his game.

Lots of holes

For the price I was expecting a professionally well finish asset. A lot of holes and will take a lot of time to fix it.

Very annoying to work with

Meshes have holes in them, impossible to modify. I was expecting modular pieces I could turn on and off to make my own prefabs. But really, not. The meshes also have no backs, so you can't use these as a cave entrance as the backs of the meshes are invisible.
