I played around with the Head model included in the URP demo and It seems that I am only able to see the SSS when the light source is coming behind the model and the camera is positioned in the direct path of the light source in some way. If you rotate the light source to make the light come from the top and let the camera look straight ahead, the SSS effect is completely gone, it looks exactly like the standard shader which should not really happen, the skin should retain some kind of translucency even if the light is coming from the top. is this is a limitation of the shader and it's the reason why the skin tone property was included or it should not work like that ?

No cutout rendering mode

Nice plugin. A lot of customization points. What I miss a lot is cutout rendering mode. 3 stars now, with cutout even 6. EDIT: No response from dev at all -> 1 star

No responds from the author after he asked me to send the model, lot of issues when I use the shader. Basically this shader cannot read alpha which means it is NOT compatibility with mustache or eyebrow attached on head. I asked the author for cutout mode, no responds.

At first I didn't really understand people fanboying over this studio. But after being really impressed with the snow shader, I decided to give this one a try, since I was frustrated with another skin shader. Even though the Picture shown looks nothing at all like the style i'm going for. This skin shader looks really great. Even on my character which doesn't even have any of the fancy texture maps, just a single skin texture. I am starting to understand all the hype.

Very Nice Easy Setup Skin

Really a nice looking shader, which with good textures and maps will look quite good. Only thing i've noticed is a weird shadow bug when two seperate lights are near my model only one of them seems to render light on my meshes surface strange but quite minor.

The webGL demo convinced me this was worth a try, and it worked out really well. Its got all the settings you need to create really nice looking skin. It doesn't have to be super realistic either, I got this tool to help make softer looking stylized skin and there are plenty of settings to make that happen too. Very satisfied with this.

This shader helped me a lot. With the combination of the skin maps , post processing effects and lightning , I can bring the character to life in a small amount of time.

This is the last skin shader I bought on the Unity Asset Store. My advice: Stick with the standard shader. There is simply no point when buying shaders which are broken out of the box jus because you have Post processing attached to your cam. Not even want to test it. EDIT: Sorry for the late edit. I saw that the dev corrected the issue. I tested it also and its no more broken with the Post Process Stack. I already raised my rating. Havent fully tried it yet on a complete char, but whats already bugging me is that you have the Gloss map in the Alpha of the Spec map, because the primary map of importance here with skin is the gloss , and not the spec, which could be a constant of about 0.35. This is not a comfi setup (at least for me). The other features like translucency are nice and straightforward to setup with the needed settings. Conclusion: As for Unity not having an integrated official skin shader till now, this might be something for you to try out, also regarding the price.

Edit : I made a quick WebGL where i use the skin shader with the Unity Post Processing Stack. (Using Unity 2017.1) https://goo.gl/85j6eb This demo was made only to show the compatibility between the 2 assets. Please note that the post processing effects have been exaggerated in the demo in order to highlight the effects. The Antialiasing, the Ambient Occlusion, DoF, Bloom, Color Grading, Chromatic Aberration, Grain and Vignette are all enabled for this demo and work as expected with the skin shader. Regards, Julien
