Works great on Quest 2...even in Multiplayer

Immersive-Matthewon previous version 5.1
I was using a camera based mirror which worked just fine, until I went multiplayer and suddenly it would only work in the editor or single player. Picked up this asset as I was in a pinch and need a quick fix. I was not disappointed as it was a breeze to setup thanks for the VR demo scene, ended up looking way better than the old mirror and is way more performant. After buying many duds off the asset store, it is nice to see one that just works as advertised.

Thank you asset creator and GPT4

oliranon previous version 5.1
I have a scene in my VR app with a mirror. I was using a second camera to render texture to the mirror, and this worked great on Unity 2021. Alas, I switched over to Unity 2022 (for good reasons), and without any other changes the app kept crashing on Quest 2 with "Not enough memory" errors. I tried everything, even lowering resolution from 2k to 256x256, but nothing helped. I consulted GPT-4 and after failing to isolate the problem, it said I should 1) file a bug report with Unity, and 2) buy this asset. I was skeptical but also desperate for a solution because my app is nearing launch so took the chance. Miraculously, immediately everything just worked perfectly. It looks just like my high-resolution two camera solution but without any frame rate drops! Thank you asset creator, and thank you GPT-4 for letting me know about this asset.

Getting started is easy

WidmerNoelon previous version 4.2
I start off by rating this with 5 stars. It's very easy to set up (when you follow the documentation) and works out of the box. I will come back if I change my mind later on. I do have an issue though because my mirror displays some areas too bright. It looks like I would need to set the intensity on the material to 1 to get rid of that but that option is not available for the OneEye material. The documentation describes lots of old materials but I am quite confused what I should use now. This should be simplified or better explained in the documentation.

Hi, thanks for kind review. One eye (or two eye for VR) shaders are just very simple shader graphs to just use reflection as it is and may become non-controllable. Please use "Complex" under my namespace as goes "Akillimum->..." on shader selection for material. Will write you (and update docs) for clearer description :)

it is already a planar reflection so its purpose to work on a plane :) If it is not, it means package is not working completely :) Please reach me out on "akillimum@gmail.com". There is no problem i could not solve until now :)

The asset is worth every single penny. The author is always readily available for help, in the case you are not able to make things work (as I did, due to my poor expertise). It worked super nice for my VR project, using Oculus Quest 2 and Open XR.
