If you use 'sprite atlas', never buy this trash asset. The developer admitted the error, But he doesn't reply whenever talks about a refund.

As working with URP 2D Experimental pipeline tried a bunch of the Outliners, though this was the only which provided with the required functionality and gave much more of the great features that I required- I would strongly recommend to anyone in need to save time and get a top-notch result. Thank you.

Definitely worth the price. Does a LOT for various types of highlight and outline effects. Publisher is also very responsive and helpful for questions and feedback. Things to keep in mind with this asset: - It is an image/sprite generator that will create the outline effect you want - Not really used (out of the box) as a highlighter for objects in 3d world space behind walls using shaders, etc… like you would imagine in an FPS where you can pseudo see through walls… not really made for that in my understanding… but could easily be adapted for it) - Outlines are regenerated as needed, with LARGE sprites, can be a little taxing if doing each update loop. - As described, this makes fantastic “Photoshop” like outlines around sprites. If you want simple outlines via shaders to follow your 3d objects around, see another plugin. But for 2D sprites, glow effects, etc. This plugin can’t be beat!!!! - Making a full 2D game, this is a MUST have plugin for any highlights/outlines.

v2.1 Doesn't Work with Rect Transform

Looks super cool, but unfortunately it doesn't work with rect transform. Repro: 1) Make a UI gameobject with Image component 2) Apply the texture to image component 3) Click "Set Native Size" on image component 4) Add Sprite Outline Component 5) Notice sprite outline looks great 6) Alter game object's rect transform width/height Expect Result Outline should resize to match rect transform width/height Actual Result Outline remains the same size Workaround: Use Rect Transform scale instead of setting width/height (this might not always be a good option though)

처음 사본 유료 에셋입니다. 이 에셋은 두 가지 방법으로 사용할 수 있는데요, 첫 번째는 미리 외곽선을 세팅해서 프리팹처럼 만들어 사용하는 것이고, 두 번째는 실시간으로 렌더링해서 사용하는 것 입니다. 퍼블리셔가 퍼포먼스를 위해 첫 번째 방법을 권장하는데 사실 이 방식은 굳이 에셋을 사용하지 않아도 만들 수 있을 것 같습니다. 이 에셋의 핵심인 실시간 랜더링의 퍼포먼스는 솔직히 이 에셋과 같은 기능을 가진 모든 에셋에 안좋은 리뷰가 달려있어서 걱정을 많이 했는데 제가 초보라 비교하는 방법같은 것을 몰라서 그냥 제일 비싼걸로 사봤습니다. 두 방법 모두 컴퓨터와 모바일 양쪽에서 잘 작동하구요, 에셋에 발생한 이슈에 대해 퍼블리셔와 메일을 주고받으면서 퍼블리셔가 친절하고 상품의 유지보수에 최선을 다하는 것 같다고 느꼈습니다. 에셋도 좋고 퍼블리셔 케빈도 좋은 사람인 것 같습니다. 추천합니다. *추가 제가 영어로 쓰는 것은 못하지만 읽을 줄은 조금 아는데, 구글에 제 리뷰를 영어로 번역해보니 굉장히 이상하게 번역하는 것 같습니다. 혹시라도 이 리뷰를 번역해본 영어권자가 계신다면, 오해없으시길 바랍니다. 훌륭한 에셋입니다.

Lagging performance when running project

i am implementing a simple physics2d based game using a Hinge joint. The gameplay was very smooth. i tried to make outline for just one picture sprite ( static background ) 1920*1080 with a Size variable of 9 ==> physics performance dropped and all gameplay become laggy. i was thinking to put many outlined sprites per scene, but i can't even do it with one sprite without problems. i hope you can help.

Honestly, a 1080p image is too large to run smoothly in real time for any outline shader... (I even tested applying a 9px stroke effect to a 1080p image in Photoshop CS5 and it lagged as well.) Luckily, the latest version added pre-rendering, so that is what you will have to do. After you finalize your settings, click the "Export" button at the bottom to render the outline to disk and then enable "Use Exported Frame" so that the outline is rendered as a particle using the exported image instead of being rendered in real time using the outline shader. This will solve your performance issue. Note: You may have to Alt+Tab in/out of Unity after clicking "Export" for it to load the exported outline into your project.
