Performance Friendly

HolyDukethon version 2.84
Love this asset. I was having trouble optimizing my prior grass iteration due to high poly counts, and in the end, I caved in and bought a grass asset. I can certainly say I got my money's worth; this system allows for the seamless implementation of different grass styles.

Looks and performs great

Jigglysofton version 2.84
It looks good and performs great. The detail maps took a minute to grasp, but if you zoom out and look at your terrain from overhead while swapping them you can see what they actually do.
Out of the box it's designed to work with static meshes or terrain. If you're using procedural terrain in runtime you will need to also build the grassflow mesh for the renderer procedurally (there's probably other solutions but that's what I chose to do).

This tool is incredibly nonuserfriendly. Struggled with it for quite some time without getting a single blade of grass to spawn until I finally gave up and asked for a refund.

I'm sorry you couldn't get it working ๐ฟ
In most cases it should be very simple to get it going based on the example scenes and adjusting things based on documentation and extensive tooltips.
Hard to say what the issue is without any info obviously, but I'm almost always available through email or discord to help diagnose problems so I'm sure I could've helped figure this out. But again, apologies for a less than seamless experience.

High Quality & High Performance!

ardagamingplayzon version 2.84
there is nothing much to say, its prob. the best grass asset out there and the performance of it aswell is just awesome, it lets you render a lot of grass at once and it also gives you many options to make your game even more performant. you can use your own mesh or a terrain which also makes this asset even better than most of the other grass assets. And yes its not just an "Grass Asset" its a Whole System. Awesome Work!

Really great. The API is flexible enough to extend, and the code is clean and easy to work with. In my opinion the documentation is sufficient. The real victory here is the performance - it's out of this world.

Updated to Version 2.76 (released ~1 month later)
-----------------------------------------------------------
I received a notification from Unity that this asset had been updated and so I decided to give it a try once again. This update addresses the majority of issues with Unity 6+ (I still needed to manually fix a few script errors but they were simple enough) and I am happy to report that the asset now works in Unity 6.1 URP. I did not test HDRP or Unity 6.2 so I cannot speak towards those.
The asset does everything it claims to do and performance is possibly the best of all the grass shaders I have got working with Unity 6! The default grass is a bit large, as noted in other users' reviews, but it is easily adjustable and I had no problems customizing it to work with my project. Mobile performance on the other hand is not great and the documentation could be described as minimum-at-best.
The author also seems to be slowly becoming active once again on their Discord support channels, though the announcements channel and general "vibe" of the server are still very much dead and there is still no mention of 6000.x compatibility/incompatibility anywhere in the asset description or documentation.
Overall, this is an excellent asset for those willing to put in the time to tinker and customize but can be a headache to learn with poor documentation and inactive support. I have raised my original score, but I cannot rate it higher until these things are addressed and the latest LTS version of Unity is working as part of the out-of-the-box experience or marked as unsupported.

Original Review Below (Version 2.75):
-----------------------------------------------------------
Purchased during Spring Sale 2025 while searching filtered for 6000.x assets.
~~DOES NOT WORK WITH UNITY 6.0+~~ (See updated review above)
There is nothing in the description claiming incompatibility with newer versions, only that it requires 2019+ and incompatible with HDRP and LWRP.
Also, the Discord server is now a ghost town with the latest announcements being over 2 years ago and most recent support messages being months old with no responses.

Harsh but fair I suppose. I think the original review was when I was out of the country for a couple months and had trouble keeping up with discord stuff.
But yeah I mean it's just a small server where people go to ask questions. Not much of a community tbh and I forgot there even was an announcement channel ๐
Anyway, at least in my testing Unity 6 shouldn't have any issues and no manual fixes should be necessary. If you're still experiencing issues on a fresh import in U6 then I'd appreciate if you could report them.
Documentation could definitely use an update pass though... I think I just have the mentality of the user that is too lazy to read the manual. To be fair there's a lot of useful info in the tooltips I think goes unnoticed a lot of the time.
LOVE THIS ASSET ,ALSO WANT TO USE IT IN HDRP

HDRP is a complicated beast that isn't intended to be developed for outside of shader graphs which makes it really difficult to integrate. I have however tentatively added support for deferred HDRP rendering recently. I can't say it's perfect but it's something, if you wish to give it a go.

Good Asset .

abhaysherlockedon previous version 2.73
I bought this asset when I was using URP.
It worked well like a charm.
But I moved my project to HDRP , but now I can't use this.
Please bring HDRP support.
