Amazing Asset!

I was using it with bakery for baking the lights, had a little bit of a problem with the shader. The creator personally help me figure out the issue. I'm very thankful for it. 🥺 Other than that, the asset works well! I'm seeing no performance issues right now. Highly recommended.

Best asset for mirrors... period!

I used the asset in Unity 6.1 although I knew it was untested at the time. I encountered some issues with the fps and I asked Tom (the asset creator) for help. He really did help me and we managed to figure out there were issues with my project's settings! We fixed them and now everything runs smooth! The asset itself was made with love and care. It's ultra light and really easy to set it up and running! I would 10/10 recommend it, not only this asset, but everything Tom makes! Thanks Tom!

Amazing Mirror Plugin! Works great on Meta Quest.

I'm very happy with this amazing VR-compatible mirror plugin. The demo scene is very helpful to observe how to set things up properly. It is very easy to get a mirror up and running, and this plugin works with *multiple* spectator cameras so long as you tag each camera as "SpectatorCamera". Support from Tom has been great. It's obvious the developer of this plugin has a true interest in the technology, leading to a great product!

Updating my review, because I have tested this asset in the different projects, with different settings, on desktop and VR, as result - I removed it from my VR project. My opinion: 1) To costly for simple clear Mirrors (vehicle's mirrors in my case)! I ended up using a basic solution like camera+render texture - no FPS drop and no jittering in VR with crystal clear picture 1024x1024. The only downside is a static picture - same view from different angles. This asset works as a real mirror, but drops 10FPS for a single mirror even with the lowest settings, from 35 to 25 and my headsets Quest2/3 start glitching/jittering? 0 fps drop with simple Camera. 2) Also this asset has some mirror effects you might be interested in, but keep in mind it's really heavy in VR, even demo scenes will hit a performance badly (I mentioned last time Elevator Demo scene with 3 Mirrors 18 FPS, disable 2 mirrors - and FPS jumps to ~40-50). So, 4* because I had an opportunity to grab it on a Flash deal, and it has more features and effects than simple mirror, but -1* because I can not really use it in VR URP (2022.3.12f) ps I did not contact developer, because there is nothing I can ask for... better performance? I believe when you release something - this is the best you can provide at the moment. Well, will be checking for updates and once performance improved I'll take another look ) btw I have to use Multipass due SkyBlending and more than 4 terrain texture layers, otherwise they don't work as expected.

edit: Hi Niko, if you're not hitting full framerate on a quest 3 in the elevator scene your URP setup is not as it should be. Q3 easily hits framerate but there's a ton of settings that can kill performance. reach out if you need some help in that regard. a realtime mirror renders the scene from the viewpoint of the mirror again. With recursion set to 2 and 3 mirrors looking in to each other, the elevator scene is meant to stresstest the system :). As stated it's a heavy effect! luckily there's many tricks implemented to get the best performance possible. That being said, I would really try to go single pass. terrain is also horribly slow in VR. I try to avoid the Unity terrain system but don't know of other better systems to do open world terrain. URP has many knobs to turn feel free to reach out through email if you want some tips on performance, we could do a quick checkup through a screensharing session.

Frankly remarkable! The demo scenes look fantastic and showcase the asset's capabilities perfectly. It worked flawlessly out of the box: no errors, setups, or hassle required. Just plug-and-play & enjoy. 5/5!
