GarretPolkon previous version V 1.6.7
Maybe there's some good stuff in here, but I'm not going to spend all the extra effort required to try to make it work if the developer won't.
I've had this asset for years and I've never seen it work out of the box. Simple bugs still remain in the code and sample projects since 2015. Most functionality is not documented other than the samples.

This worked great when I first bought it, but the developer hasn't kept it updated (last update was in 2015) to be compatible with newer versions of Unity. It also does not play well with the VRTK camera, which is what I'm hoping to get these effects to show on.

I love just about everything about this asset from the various water effects, screen effects, and weather systems. However, I have two complaints. The first is that the documentation is a bit weak and setting up weather systems and weather events is a bit confusing. I can get things to work by copying over from demo scenes and making tweaks, but I have never been completely successful doing things from scratch. Second, the performance is not as good as I would expect. If this could be optimized for better performance, I'd give it 5 stars.
[EDIT]
I would also like to see the code cleaned up and organized better. The code doesn't follow good code formatting rules and it's very difficult to make sense of it the way it's written.

Beautiful but no support

Lasse-Loepfeon previous version V 1.5.6
The effects are stunning. However I mailed the developer twice abount an issue and did not get any answer. For me, the effects don't work if applied to a camera different to the one initialy present in the scene. Maybe it's just me being stupid, but I think support should be there to help us twerps out.

This was excellent for Unity 4 but now does not work right in Unity 5

SpaceRayon previous version V 1.4.5
I love really much the excellent and amazing effects that this asset is giving and they are surely the best avaialble with the most realistic rain, thunder and rain drops on camera, and water distorsions
Regretably there is some errors in Unity 5, mainly on the sky that makes it not usable.
I hope that soon there is an update that solves this
Until this is fixed I will go inside because of the very realistic rain so I do not get wet

Best Weather System I've Found on the Asset Store
11 years ago
RobertMacGillivrayon previous version V 1.5.6
EDIT: My below statement about errors in Unity 5 has been rectified and the documentation is a little better now but, for some reason, the clouds in the sky just don't look right compared to the way they did in Unity 4.6. Almost like they aren't blending with the skybox as well as they did before. Maybe it has something to do with everything else looking better in Unity 5, tricking me into thinking it doesn't look quite right? In any case, the weather and water effects are still the best I've found, and it's really easy to tweak with a little of your own code if you need to. Everything's really been polished up, it's nice that the developer revisits this once in a while.
------------------------------------------
I've been blown away by this asset so far, but that comes with a few problems that I would like to bring to the forefront.
There were a few errors when I first imported the package, and a few more when I tried to implement it. This was in Unity 5 (of course, that's where every old package is supposed to go to break, right?). I was able to fix the errors on my own without too much of a problem though, so that was good. The code is fairly organized, although the text alignment was all screwed up when I opened the scripts in MonoDevelop, so that didn't really help me.
The next thing that bothered me (keep in mind that this functionality may exist, but I didn't catch it in the vids and the documentation wasn't super helpful) was that there didn't seem to be an easy system for making weather that changed over time beyond the curves and multipliers you set in advance. So I coded my own stuff that randomly selects a weather system when you load a scene and then locks the weather system in the middle third of the curve after it gets there so that the storm varies in intensity, but never actually ends. Eventually, I plan on adding my own system to switch between different weather systems over time, but this looks pretty difficult considering all the things that Liquidum does when a scene first loads.
Even considering the above, I would say that this asset is worth every penny. It looks and sounds beautiful and isn't really all that resource intensive. If it was all cleaned up a bit, and documented a little better (and more intuitive to use maybe so that documentation wouldn't be as essential) Liquidum could easily be worth double to me what we're being charged right now.
