A real alternative for my AR mobile game. To make it even more performant, change all „hardcoded” numbers in the shader, so e.g. 1.0h becomes half(1.0). Unity’s shader compiler ignores f and h suffixes and treats them as float, leading to unnecessary half to float conversions in the compiled shader code.

It's the fastest FXAA for Unity, but it doesn't deal well with non-organic shapes like stairs, cubes and flat surfaces in general, where edges remain aliased.
It does deal very well with curved and organic shapes though but has a tendency to mud the contours. A bit like a median photoshop filter.
So, it's faster than Amplify's free FXAA and Unity built-in FXAA, that's true. But FXAA is already super fast on modern hardware anyway, so, for me, the quality loss versus the speed increase is not worth it in the end.
Maybe if you are targeting really REALLY low spec devices it could be of use, but since low spec devices have issues just using image effects in the first place, I doubt it will.
Kudos to the author for trying to improve and speed-up a technique invented by a real genius, but the final result is not that good, sadly.

Hi
Thank you for your review.
I am sure you well informed about FXAA algorithm, but there are some misconceptions.
Firstly the FXAA algorithm is kind of "blurry", despite being the fastest approach. Indeed, by means of handling the aliasing and sharp edges, it is not the best algorithm. FXAA kind of blurs it. It is not noticeable at all in modern devices, unless you want super details for the thin wires.
There are some hybrid approaches to handle those cases but it hits performance quite bad.
So I ended up making the FXAA maximally optimized with minimal effect to the final result.
Very fast AA solution.
The difference with MSAA is huge. It helped me to optimize my game and get those 10 fps back.
It is great thing to have cause it saves a huge amount of your time, when you sit and don't know what more is needs to be optimized in your game. I was just stuck, and then I found this amazing asset.
Very simple to setup, takes just one minute. Turn off MSAA add script to camera and voila! URP support is another great feature of it :)
I am working on VR project on Unity 2019 version

The best FXAA I've tried in Unity. The result is superior to Unity's Standard Assets FXAA and even Amplify's FXAA, and they know a lot about graphics. This anti-aliasing gives just a stunningly smooth picture and does not make everything ugly blurry. The best balance of quality and clarity I've seen. In addition, it works great with Sharpen-effects, and this is very important for many developers, including me. Well, of course, the effect is incredibly fast. I will use it in my large PC-project. Just a couple of hours of work and it’s already hard for me to imagine my graphics without it! And all this despite the fact that I bought it yesterday, when it had a price. Surprisingly, only a day after my purchase, the asset became free. Although I personally was ready to pay four times more than its original price, and still I would have been pleased with such a good buy.
Tested on Unity 2017.4.1f1 (64-bit)
