i purchased 5 different dissolve shader packages off unity, and this is the only one which had exactly what i needed for mobile, a simple dissolve shader that reacts to lighting, and a dissolve shader that can be used on transparent containing textures like leaves and also reacts to lighting, works perfect, thank you, wish i bought this before all others xD, it would be cool if the simple mobile shaders could contain two colors though, so you can have a better burning look, but that might make it not so efficient for mobile ^^

** AMAZING **
You could literally adjust it for any of your cool effects within the game needed. Or simply talk to the developer as I did superb support created a custom playmaker action script for his effects which gives you the flexibility to instantly use it and see it in action in your own game within seconds.
He's willing to continue improving it such as his other awesome assets.

I feel I've ripped you off for the price and what I'm getting
** update ** this is not 100% suitable for MOBILE, as the performance is not the greatest on older mobiles and SOME ANDROID PHONES WILL NOT RUN THE APP/GAME (OR CRASH WHEN SHADERS ARE USED) due to the specs the shader is using. (thus reduced to 4 stars, and the developer sort of disappeared.)
I had to build my own shader after all to make it work, the effects are great but be careful who you are targeting.
It took me quite a while to narrow it down and figure out that a shader was causing these crashes (a pain in the..)

This effect looks good & impressive, but at $30, it's seriously overpriced.
It's basically less than 10 lines of code added to the standard Shaders, with a texture automatically generated by Photoshop (the Cloud render effect filter) coupled with a gradient.
ie: for a coder familiar with Unity Shaders, it's half a day of work, while other assets on the store with a similar price make you save days (if not weeks!) of work.
Moreover, the shader code needs some cleaning & small optimizations.
Setting & configuration are fast and easy.
In short : if you're not a coder and can afford it, go for it ! Else, you might want to consider waiting to get it for $15 or less on sales (like today! ;) ), or just doing it yourself.

I agree with everything you said above, it is totally true! But I am aiming for those with less ShaderLab experience, and in my opinion, this is what the Asset Store made for, for people wanting to save time, or learn how to do it themselves with good examples. And this brings us to the same point actually! :)
As for people with actual experience in this, there is also the Dissolve Shaders Mobile, a simpler $10 solution, which can be easily transformed into this product right, by someone who knows ShaderLab fairly well!
Hope this puts things in order!

His support may have been great back in March, but it's non-existant at the moment - I emailed him 2 days ago with a question, still no reply. Will review my rating if and when he responds.
Update: Finally heard from the author, and he explained and apologized for the delay, which was good enough for me. The product does exactly what he says it will, and he was keen to provide support once we got sorted. I have updated my rating to reflect this. Good product :)

Great for mobile

The shaders works as expected, and thanks to the update and the new unlit shader I can use this on my project (a mobile game).
Very nice shader, and Andrew was very nice adding an unlit shader as per request on the forums.
