It's a great tool but it doesn't work in Unity 6.5 . Use the LTS 6.3 version until Playmaker gets a compatible update.

This is hands down my number 1 favorite asset in the Unity asset store. Discord support is also very good, and the ecosystem has very useful resources.

I’m not new to game development, but I’m more of an artist/designer than a coder. Playmaker has helped me tremendously! I usually have to lean on people with more engineering chops, and this has helped me gain more independence in making what I want. I love working in the sweet spot between having to code VS leaning on AI and not really knowing if it’s stable or what its doing exactly. Playmaker has been a game changer for me, literally!!!! Thanks Team Hutong! UPDATE: (I got PM/ wrote the above in March) I've been doing more vibe coding and I can definitely say using Playmaker is an overall better experience. AI keeps doing things I don't anticipate, and because it's black boxed, I can't iterate on it the way I want to. Playmaker is awesome...

I'm not much of a coder and trying to write all of my own code from scratch was really slowing me down. PlayMaker has completely changed the way I developed and was able to learn how it's used quick. Their youtube tutorials are the best. I don't think i'll ever go back! Highly recommended!

EDIT: Initially this review was lamenting a flaw /bug in a core component of the editor, but i'll be damned I managed to get the help from one of the devs and managed to fix it! That said, I managed beforehand to find a solution even then, and since i've been having a really good time with the tool. It's quite powerful while still having that ease of approach. Some elements are a teensy out of date, which is to be expected honestly for a third party (cinemachine 3 for instance, while still compatible, has some property that got changed and is also not compatible with the current package on the ecosystem, so you gotta use 2 which still does pretty much everything 3 does), but aside from that it's a very powerful tool still.

Playmaker is a really useful aid to programming. It makes simple programming tasks a breeze and custom actions add a lot of depth to more complicated tasks. I use playmaker daily, highly recommended.

I use PlayMaker in every game I make. I've been in the game industry for 20 years, and there is nothing quite like this asset. I have used it on everything from small solo projects to 40 person teams. You can use it for one small piece of your game, or the entire thing. It's truly a fantastic tool, and the support is just as good. Just buy it, do a few quick tutorials, and you will begin to see what I mean. PlayMaker is the greatest.
