I was incredibly enamoured with the plugin at first, thinking it would be a great teaching tool as well for students.
Sadly, there are just fundamental flaws with even just the basic functionalities, like making a third person controller. The jump controller (the one shown in so many tutorials and the thing you'd think of using) is so bugged that your character will wildly get catapulted on ledges and slide on slopes. This makes it basically unusable. And all the alternative methods are so unweildy you might as well code. And of course, there is no support or help for this issue.

I use PlayMaker in every game I make. I've been in the game industry for 20 years, and there is nothing quite like this asset. I have used it on everything from small solo projects to 40 person teams. You can use it for one small piece of your game, or the entire thing. It's truly a fantastic tool, and the support is just as good.
Just buy it, do a few quick tutorials, and you will begin to see what I mean. PlayMaker is the greatest.

Unity + Playmaker is a match made in heaven for non-coders! Together, they enable endless creativity. I've used Playmaker since 2015, published multiple games, and couldn't be more grateful for the people behind this wonderful tool.

You know what? PlayMaker ain’t gonna save you from the headache of logic. You’ll still burn hours just to make your system actually work. But here’s the thing: the spaghetti mess inside PlayMaker at least feels like it has an exit sign… unlike that cursed pile of C# code.
In short: PlayMaker is “hard to build but easy to understand,” while C# is “hard to build and you’ll keep staring at it forever like, what the heck does this even mean?”
