Not much content out there. Tutorials are 14 years old. If you get stuck good luck with that because you're alone. C# is easier for me

While some older tutorials from PlayMaker’s early years are still online, we’ve also produced many newer tutorials and examples. If you get stuck, you're not alone - support is available through the PlayMaker forums and our active Discord community. There are also many helpful third-party tutorials available on YouTube.
PlayMaker isn’t meant to replace C# for everyone, but many developers find it helps them prototype and build gameplay systems faster without needing to write code.
I'm not much of a coder and trying to write all of my own code from scratch was really slowing me down. PlayMaker has completely changed the way I developed and was able to learn how it's used quick. Their youtube tutorials are the best. I don't think i'll ever go back! Highly recommended!

EDIT: Initially this review was lamenting a flaw /bug in a core component of the editor, but i'll be damned I managed to get the help from one of the devs and managed to fix it!
That said, I managed beforehand to find a solution even then, and since i've been having a really good time with the tool. It's quite powerful while still having that ease of approach.
Some elements are a teensy out of date, which is to be expected honestly for a third party (cinemachine 3 for instance, while still compatible, has some property that got changed and is also not compatible with the current package on the ecosystem, so you gotta use 2 which still does pretty much everything 3 does), but aside from that it's a very powerful tool still.

I replied to your thread on the Playmaker Forums. Unfortunately I can't reproduce the issue you ran into following the third person controller tutorial video. If you post more details I'm sure we can help you track down the issue.

Some input actions only show if you have the Legacy Input Manager enabled:
Project Settings > Player > Configuration > Active Input Handling.
Newer versions of Unity have only the new Input System enabled in new projects.

I use PlayMaker in every game I make. I've been in the game industry for 20 years, and there is nothing quite like this asset. I have used it on everything from small solo projects to 40 person teams. You can use it for one small piece of your game, or the entire thing. It's truly a fantastic tool, and the support is just as good.
Just buy it, do a few quick tutorials, and you will begin to see what I mean. PlayMaker is the greatest.

You know what? PlayMaker ain’t gonna save you from the headache of logic. You’ll still burn hours just to make your system actually work. But here’s the thing: the spaghetti mess inside PlayMaker at least feels like it has an exit sign… unlike that cursed pile of C# code.
In short: PlayMaker is “hard to build but easy to understand,” while C# is “hard to build and you’ll keep staring at it forever like, what the heck does this even mean?”
