I've been using UVC with my Subversion repository for the last three years and I'm very happy with. It really helps you to avoid conflicts with other collaborators and make the work much easier. It is not a 100% replacement of external tools (like TortoiseSVN for example), but allows better control of your versioned assets. Good work!

Thanks for making this tool and make them available to public. Can you please provide any video tutorial for using UVC wih unity perfectly ? Issue I am facing is as listed below :. I am getting svn:ignore message after scene refresh and project is reloaded. Merging is not for scenes using YAML after configuring for it. Merging cs# file is not properly done. (ex, .CS file is appended by some non alphabetic character in it) When I resolve some file the file is been replaced which is there on server. Either I am missing something. So please upload some good documentation which included step by step for using unity project in organized manner or upload a tutorial video. It will help other users also.

First up, thanks for providing this SVN solution, you rock! It did take a bit of experimenting to get my head around it as the documentation is basic, but once up and running I haven't found any significant issues during testing. I encountered an issue enabling it on an existing project that hadn't been source controlled. It errored saying that SVN:Ignore was not a valid property. To remedy I needed to manually set the Ignore property on the root folder first, and then after that this tool offered to automatically set the ignores. Note also that if you choose Yes, the ignores now include the C# solution files, among other root files, so I recommend choosing No and setting up a manual ignore of just the 'Library' folder as per Unity's SVN example (http://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/ExternalVersionControlSystemSupport.html). How to setup this.Is there any proper documentation.Also if we create this will it be store the data be stored in server on commit?If so what is the max size the server can hold is it unlimited?And can you provide step by step info on how to set it up?

Working Well for Unity 5

UPDATE AFTER 7 MONTHS (11/16/2015): I am encountering a bug where I cannot move larger folders without getting a critical exception from UVC (string or data is too long for the GUI?). This is happening with two different folders imported from the asset store. I sent in a bug request and am hoping this can be fixed soon. Otherwise it has been working okay. Some things are little quirky at first, but it has been fairly stable once you get used to it. 3/3/2016: Ended up switching to "SVN Tools" (paid) because of unfixed bugs causing issues. -- Original Review: This an incredible help for a small team that's trying to get started using Unity 5 Personal Edition. Two tips for getting up and running: 1- Make sure to have "Visible Meta Files" set in your editor settings. Unity has an official docs page about external version control that goes over this. 2- If you start getting blank (brown sky?) scenes when opening a scene that someone else committed, the problem is most like that you two are on different minor versions of Unity. "Check for Updates" is not always correct, so make sure you all have the latest downloaded. Getting SVN up and running on a Linux server was fairly easy, and UVC connected right away. There doesn't seem to be a way to revert files to previous versions from Unity, but that's okay; it's fairly easy to do using TortoiseSVN on Windows, by right clicking and using "Show Log". A few minor quirks, but nothing major so far. One thing that causes errors in the console is adding a folder, and then trying to add a file in that folder that's still listed as unversioned- it was automatically added but you need to click Refresh first (probably something that could be updated, so people aren't worried by seeing an error). I'll update my review if anything becomes a problem during development. Cheers for the great asset.

Works very well but can break some things

It does what it says and I like it for that. However, be aware that UVC may alter the behavior of one or more components. I had it where it changed how some of the properties on the Skinned Mesh Renderer are named such as BlendShapes becoming Blend Shape Weights and the respective blendshape names being labeled as Element 0, Element 1 etc. Due to the fact I'm using blendshapes rather heaviliy, this is somewhat of a deal breaker and I had to remove UVC from my project to get it back to normal. Hopefully this issue is resolved in the future.

I'm using it in every project I can. Excellent thing, very useful and convenient. It has its issues here and there but they never crash the editor or smth. like that. If UVC refuses to commit with some unclear message, just Update+Commit using TortoiseSVN or what you use as backend for UVC and it'll work. If it won't help, then make Clean Up using said tool. I wonder about one thing though. I found minor bug that should be really easy to fix. How can I report it most easily?
