Being a Software Engineer in Chile with more than 120 projects accomplished in 33 years of Career in multiple industries, I recognize that having Powerful No-Code or Less-Code Visual Scripting Frameworks & Templates available to make MAGIC, instead of typing hundreds of thousands of lines of code it's just very, very appreciated. Nowadays I'm embarking on a new adventure: Develop highly entertaining educational games. No more boring educational games, please!!! With Game Creator I'm getting there, reaching the top of the mountain. It is like having a Sherpa that helps me with everything on a long journey.
So let me express a Sincere THANK YOU!
The only downside is that in Third World Countries like Chile, the minimum wage for a Full-time Job is equivalent to US $500 a month, and a Senior Developer like me gets a little more than US $1.900 a month. So, -for example- Game Creator's "Shooter 2" Asset at US $79,99 on the Asset Store... for me is almost impossible to pay. This is the last Item I need to complete my whole CatSoft Collection (I bought almost all the other Assets on Sale). Please don't get me wrong. Of course, the Asset is worth it, but... there are thousands of people like me who love Unity and CatSoft, and live in a highly different reality than the US, Australia, or Europe. So... when are you going to make another sale to us your faithful and loyal Fan Customers? Or maybe... some coupons/promo codes? Please consider this. You know we love your work!

The Game Creator Inventory System is a total game-changer! It provides a simple yet powerful solution for handling all aspects of in-game inventory management. From adding and organizing items to implementing custom functionality, this system does it all without a hitch.
What really stands out is the integrated merchant system, allowing for seamless buy/sell interactions—perfect for any RPG or shop-based mechanic. Additionally, the crafting system is incredibly well-designed, enabling you to easily implement complex crafting mechanics with minimal effort. These features elevate the inventory system beyond just item management.
The drag-and-drop functionality and intuitive UI make it a joy to use, and the customizable actions let you tailor it exactly to your game's needs. Plus, the system integrates smoothly with other Game Creator modules, allowing for easy expansion and modification.
If you're looking for an inventory system that’s both powerful and easy to implement, with a merchant and crafting system built right in, the GC Inventory System is hands down the best choice. It’s saved me so much development time and has allowed me to focus on other areas of my game. Highly recommended!

Very competitive with other inventory systems on the market, while being integrated with the GC2 ecosystem.
Pros:
* Items are extremely flexible for many gameplay options
* Powerful socket system, can visually attach to items
* Easy crafting setup
* Multiple dynamic currencies
* Good synergy with other modules
Cons:
* No item database window; difficult to manage many items
* Equipment requires limited GC2 character controller
* Properties use string references, limiting maintainability & consistency across items

This particular module, I have found, is the most confusing of the bunch. But with a bit of patience, and some referencing to the examples as practice, it is majorly powerful, just as the others all are. I started with GC2 about a year ago, and at first it was (a little) hard to understand but still beats the hell out of learning all the ins and outs of C#. Catsoft makes the absolute best assets you can find anywhere for Unity. I'm not paid by them, in fact I have given them a lot of my money to use these gems. But every cent has been worth it. Yes, you will be met with some errors to fix here and there, but compared to C# this stuff is airtight. Chances are if you have more then 3 red errors in the console, you just bought GC2 and are still new to it. Trust me, stick with it. You won't regret the time you saved. ❤️

Thank you very much! Inventory is indeed one of the most complex modules for Game Creator 2, and some users are making crazy stuff with it! Hope to see what you've crafted!
Inventory 2 is a solid product with all the components you would expect from an inventory system: bags, crafting, weight management, economics, merchants, etc. It’s tightly integrated with other modules in the Game Creator 2 (GC2) universe like Melee 2 (and eventually Shooter 2). It uses the same visual development paradigm as the other GC2 products, so if you understand GC2 development, the concepts in Inventory 2 are easy to implement.
It also has a HUB where other GC2 developers post extensions to the product. A number of these HUB extensions extend the capabilities of the Inventory system. All of these HUB extensions are free.
Finally, it has an easy to understand UI framework with a ton of examples so that you can quickly integrate the underlying functionality in your games. Inventory 2 and the rest of the tools in the GC2 universe will save you a ton of development time—it’s definitely worth the investment.

You can't use a custom character controller and non-humanoid to equip an item, you must use the character controller provided in the GC2.
I know it does have a path value instead of using the Human bone, but that too also require the GC2 character controller. So if you have a custom character controller from a different asset or you created yourself, then you have to create your own equipment system.
Edit: Thank you for the link for the UI documentation, I updated my review and rating. For the character, I think it would be great if we have an option that we can just assign a path to where the equipment be instantiated, it does not require any character controller and it should work even with an empty game object.

Hi there, unfortunately we cannot make an integration with every character controller out there, so we're focused on delivering the best experience within the Game Creator ecosystem.
Regarding the documentation for making a custom user interface, you can check it here:

If you need further assistance, feel free to send us an email :-)

Only Useful For Certain Types of Inventory

Cr4shBarcodeon previous version 2.8.15
I've been on discord trying to find a fix for this for months but to no avail. Unlike Game Creator 1's simple drag-and-drop Inventory system, this version seems specifically structured for Player-focused inventory items: armor, potions, weapons, things done TO the Player. But if you want to add a key to the inventory that opens a door, or literally any other object that interacts with something that is NOT the Player, you are out of luck and will be forced to develop a massive, time-consuming workaround. I've waited a long time before posting this review to see if perhaps this was a fluke that was going to be fixed, because this wasn't a problem with GC1, but I'm pretty sure it's not the direction the publisher wants to go. Personally I would skip this module if you need it for inventory items that go beyond weapons, armor, or potions.

Hi there! That's not true. The Bag component is what contains all items and inventory data. Place it on the Player and it becomes the player's inventory. Place it on another game object and it becomes that game object's inventory.
You have a drag and drop example in the demos included with the module. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us!
even though i barely scratches the true depth of this module (which is saying a lot!) you could make it simple or complex as it could've. item, loot,crafting,sell-buy,equipment, all jam-packed inside this one module to explore and exploit.

Great Inventory

Why didn't I find this gem before? I just wanted to make a roleplaying game in my spare time. So I was looking for assets that would support that kind of game. I tried many of them. Each of them had a different approach that I had to get used to (ORK, RPG Builder, Invector, ...).
And each time the framework was not enough for me. I ended up with more and more assets that did not fit together. I had to write my own C# code to add missing functionality.
Now GC2 comes with a different approach. It just translates all the repetitive programming work into a few clicks and icons. It uses Unity functionality, so I got used to it very quickly. And every time I want to write a new piece of code, sooner or later I find I can solve it with GC2 - much easier. Thanks to the great community.
This asset really should be included in Unity by default! Thanks for this tool!
