keep getting an error... The script 'Item' does not derive from MonoBehaviour, but has been added to Game Object 'Item'. Please remove the script from the Game Object to avoid crashes.

Hey. Apologies for the 5 year delay, but I've just recently updated this package and fixed that error (among other things, like completely removing ALL allocations from common operations). Luckily, the error was only in one of the example prefabs, not in critical package code, but it was still annoying nonetheless. It has been fixed now, hope this is useful.

Really good and simple asset for tracking stats. But what's even better is the youtube series explaining everything about stats and inventory systems. Do yourself a favour and watch it.

This asset is wonderful. I made my own stat system a while back before I found this asset and while it worked, it didn't have key features such as proper order of operations on stat increases and tracking sources of stats. This is a solid base for a stat system and easily extendable should you need to add more features such as preventing a stat from receiving multiple bonuses. I stumbled on this absolute gem of a find when I googled how stat systems are made in games. Thanks to this asset, I have a working stat system that makes sense to me, and didn't require graphs and calculus to make it make sense. Note: This asset doesn't create the 'why' just the 'how' of the system. You still need to determine how much damage an attack will do because the strength score is x, for example. What it does do is properly calculate an additive or multiplicative bonus, enable removing bonuses from specific sources, etc. To the author: thank you for making this asset, it is a gem in a pile of rubble. After I got my system working and got the first buff to work properly, I had to come write this review. Excellent work!
