There are free alternatives, but since I already had this one I chose to use it. Has a convenient interface and does the job. EDIT: Four months later and I still use it almost daily. I actually can't imagine working without it in any project going forward! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I bought this asset a little over a year ago, but never got around to trying it out. I needed something today to find the usage of something in my scene so I imported this into my 2022.1.2f project and it works wonderfully. It's as simple as right clicking something and selecting Search. I would recommend this to anyone else needing a usage finder!

Very useful, however laggy/unoptimized for large projects

Extremely handy for speeding up process in what I personally use it for, which is to find and clean up unused assets in a project and even removing conflict issues when duplicating materials by quickly replacing textures in a material with a new copy. However I must make one criticism which can cause a lot of difficulties in using this tool if you have larger projects where a lot of things depend on a certain asset. The menu becomes extremely slow and unresponsive.

Hi StarScribePro! Thank you for your review. Is your main question related to Scene objects, project files or cache build? Regarding the time it takes to build the project cache - it has already been optimized to the maximum level, more isn't possible due to UnityEditor API which we rely on as it's not thread safe :-( Regarding project files - we haven't had any complaints Scene view - we had one report recently and now considering to speed it up with caching. An essential tool

There are several items in the Asset Store that I think should be part of Unity's core functionality, but none of them is as essential as this one. If you come from a coding background your brain will be wired to expect the ability to see where an object is being used, so not being able to do that at *project level* was one of the biggest head-scratching moments I had using Unity. The point however where this tool became essential for me was when I discovered the power of Scriptable Objects. Let me say that relying heavily on Scriptable Objects without this functionality is a recipe for disaster, as you will not be able to tell who's using what whenever you're planning to change an SO. So if you've seen that great Unite talk on Youtube from Ryan Hipple, *THIS* is what you need to make that approach work. Besides how great the functionality is, it's also implemented beautifully with a minimalistic interface and a fast caching mechanism which makes its use transparent. Thanks for such a great asset!

Very nice to be able to search for an asset throughout your whole project to validate where it is used before making changes to it. Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the "Find Usages in Scene & Stage" function for GameObjects in the scene. We had assumed that it would find references to that GameObject in the scene, but quickly learned that it doesn't.

Review 2021 This asset is a timesaver when you need to know how a script is used in your project and scenes! ----------------- OLD FEEDBACK Headline: "Some obsolete warnings" I really do not like when there are installation warnings on the console. Two, in this case, using Unity 2020LTS: Assets\Asset Usage Finder\Editor\PrefabUtilities.cs(52,15): warning CS0618: 'PrefabStage.prefabAssetPath' is obsolete: 'prefabAssetPath has been deprecated. Use assetPath instead.'

I really like it and useful for all projects to find assets that not used in my project and find the dependencies. but I really miss the shortcut for this tool to open it without right-click on the object.

For that reason, we have only included the features that resonate with majority of our users and fit into the product philosophy. On the other hand, we understand that you'd welcome a quicker way of accessing the Asset Usage Finder features. No support(SOLVED)

There is no support for this software. The support web is not active . I have some issues with the asset but no way to have support. Two day after my review I have to change it and rate the assest to 5 stars because the publisher contacted me and they are doing all to solve it. Thank you. I suggest the publisher to add email of contact this cloud help people who couldn't contact by telegram.
