It no longer works

Unfortunately, it no longer works due to recent updates to Unity. Some of the errors it throws are related to the API or obsolete scripts. This can be solved relatively easily. My personal problem lies in the fact that I do not know if it is a bug or I just don't know how to use it, but it does not have any components (trees or grass) and does not allow me to add my own. There is a document that explains the use of the asset as well as a video, but in both cases, a window containing the trees is displayed, and when I try to search for it in my project, it cannot be opened. I suppose that this, like all the errors, is because the asset has not been updated, and I hope it receives an update to fix it.

I personally tested it on Unity 6 and everything works. There's documentation in the MegaWorld folder, in the Getting Started section

There is no need for a discussion about how worthy this package is. It is easy to say that making Editor tools is a whole different level and this package has reached the beyond in this. I'm highly thankful for this asset.

Oh thank you for such a compliment, I'm glad you thought it was perfect. It's not perfect yet, I'm thinking of creating an alternative to Mega World, I've been thinking about this for a long time, I want to create something more revolutionary in the field of procedural generation

Mega World is a strange asset. It's for painting textures and placing gameobjects in the scene. And if it would be a handy tool but the creator has chosen a strange path going forward. MegaWorld is free now, which is appropriate because some of the overall decisions made for this asset are more in line with a hobbyist workflow. That's mainly because the author seems intent on trying to create everything themselves rather than embrace the Unity ecosystem. The other half of MW, like Instant Renderer, used to be in the store. But then it was removed and put on Patreon. The problem is that the updates became extremely slow, and if you mentioned it, you'd get an ear full about how the author feels about selling his product and such. Which is fine to have those stances, but doesn't help when the program itself still has much work to do. Now the full version is in some strange free zone with discord participation? All those things sound fun when you aren't needing a rock-solid and professional tool for a game you are actively trying to release. Going forward in 2023, I can't recommend Mega World. The placer is solid, but it relies on its own ecosystem of Instant Renderer. So if you're using one of the major vegetation renderers like Nature Renderer and GPU Instancer, then you're going to have a hard time. Because some of the placement features require you to use IR objects and not a GameObject. It's not a workflow that has been tested alongside other Unity assets. This is not an accident either, as when I mentioned my concerns/issues about MW in a discord, the author showed up and actually tried to shame me by finding an old picture I had posted of my game, and decided to try and point all the ways he thought it was bad. And how the tools I had used (like Microverse) are not good. Yes, because trying to make me feel bad about my game is a perfect way to get me to use your asset! And honestly, it's just disappointing to see. The asset had some promise, but the creator's own eccentrics have definitely torpedoed it. And now that the whole asset is basically free I don't really see this tool going anywhere. Not in a way that is useful for those looking to seriously publish their game. For prefab/veggie placement it's best are still Gena, Prefab World Builder, and YAPP. And for rendering it's still GPUI, Nature Renderer and VSP as the best. Don't get fooled by free. Because sometimes you get what you paid for.

Thanks for the feedback. Perhaps someone may not like MegaWorld and in general the Universal Toolkit that I'm working on, I'm fine with this and I'm always happy with criticism, it helps to make my tools better. You wrote that updates are slow, I remember when you first started using MW, at that time I was completely rewriting Instant Renderer, I was not just rewriting, I was trying to make it better in every aspect. I shared the Devlog every month so that users can see the progress, I couldn't release an update because I thought it was not stable in many ways, I tried to fix bugs in the old version. I agree that it took a long time to create an update, but you can't appreciate how much work I put in every Devlog, I worked 10 hours every day. Updates are not always long for me, it depends on how long it takes to create the update itself or the tool, after the release of this major update, I released another important update a month later, then two months later I got a new Sectorize tool - Streaming Toolkit and some IR improvements. About my earnings model, I did not quite understand your claims. My model is like Blender, the software is free, there is a subscription model. I have the same thing, all my tools are free, some of the tools will be in the Asset Store, and the full version will be available on my Discord server with a license, as well as on Patreon, probably, when I write this, I already had a yearly subscription, yes I I don't want to publish all my great work in the Asset Store. You wrote that if the user uses MW, he will not be able to use the GPU Instancer, Nature Renderer. I have GameObject spawn support. It is also possible to convert IR to Unity Terrain Tree or GameObject and use other renderings. Perhaps you would like to have support for direct spawning of the Unity Terrain Tree, I can’t add it, my Brush Erase Tool worked very slowly with the Unity Terrain Tree, my algorithm for finding objects did not work so as not to spawn inside the tree, this can be was to decide, but it is difficult. Also, many of my tools could not work with the Unity Terrain Tree. I don't understand why I need to create support for direct spawning of Unity Terrain Tree when you can just convert IR to Unity Terrain Tree. About that situation in the Discord server, where you wrote to another user that he should not use MW. I think you did not write bosebid things, but rather tough ones. I had the right to answer, I generally wanted to know what kind of complaints you had about my tools.
