Not Updated, don't give these people money any more

molecularstudioson version 2.5.1
Procedural Worlds continues to incentivize not buying their products. The pro version of this is still updated. This one is not, in spite of the PRO version being a version 1 of this. Yeah. Screw you for not paying more.
Done with this shady company.

Thanks for your review.
These sorts of reviews, which are not reviews, but complaints about our upgrade policy always confuse me.
How are we to afford to develop and support our products without additional revenue? That's what upgrades are for, and we do them every 2-4 years. We also offer significant discounts on these upgrades.
Our products take years to develop, are professionally written and supported, and are crazy cheap by any professional standard.
We clearly state our upgrade policy on our product pages, and we offer consistent upgrades and support for the duration of our product life cycles.
We even offer you a significant upgrade to GeNa Pro, which is a remarkably more powerful product, and which is still in its active development cycle.
If you do not value our products and the ongoing support and development we do on them, then you are not required to purchase them.
Far from being shady, we have a significant team and are arguably one of the most consistent publishers in the store, since we started here in 2015.

Makes object placement fun

RistoPaasivirtaon version 2.5.1
What I always found tedious was populating the terrains with rocks, trees and clutter.
This makes it fun!
You can do automatic spawners and paint objects into the scene yourself. With just ten minutes of learning on how things work I was finding myself making my barren terrains into thick forests. Absolutely amazing assets.

Amazing asset spawner for beginners and pros

LordCail07on previous version 2.5.0
As a beginner just starting to learn Unity this terrain tool was one of my earliest purchases and set the bar for ease of use for beginners as well as some of the best tutorials around. The range of options is astounding and as noted by many reviewers is used widely by pro devs. Most other assets on the Unity store in any category just fail to compare. Have already upgraded to version 2 and am amazed at improvements.

We try hard to deliver quality products and service.
We have just poured another man year of dev into GeNa, and this will be landing in the next few weeks !!
I like GeNa2. Once you get how to work with it is very productive. The masking and simulation options are awesome. You can populate a 2K terrain in a couple of hours with very good results.
However it has some drawbacks. GeNa2 was introducing errors when building my application. A patch was published to solve but it has not been applied to the main branch since months. Spawning objects constrained to a texture is basically an undocumented function which you have to figure out how to use...
By the way, the product has potential and it is useful. It has to areas to improve as other solutions are becoming more and more powerful.

Thanks for your review.
We have been working on a new version of GeNa for some time, and should have a new release out in the next few weeks.
It brings quite a lot of innovation to this space :)
A great tool for populating levels and game worlds. Lots of good spawing options that produce lots of different results that allow you to tailor a scene to requirements. The abiiity to spawn protoypes with physics taken into consideration is very useful and produces some nice realistic looking environmments without much fine tuning needed. The new iterate feature is nice. This tool has enough flexibility to allow out of expected use scenarios eg. I tested an earlier version with sprite spawning by parenting each to an empty object. It worked great and with the new unity prefab system allowing the prefabs in the scene to be easily unparented after finished leaving just the sprites making life easy. The user interface is straightforward and with more recent updates quick to use. Everything is easy to see and it's generally clear what's going on. In fact it's the ease of use with good results what makes this a real development tool. As with most procedural worlds tools the support is good and the products are in constant development (looking forward to seeing what the new texture spawn system is capable of as that's only just been added). Even if there are no more additions to Gena's functionality it's already fantastic.
Like I said in my top 5 terrain tools (3 are procedural worlds products - this, SECTR and PathPainter both excellent also. I can vouch for Gena as I used it in the production of some of the scenes for my game. Overall 5+ stars

GeNa is one of my go-to tools :)
I bought Gena while it was on sale, because I heard how helpful it is, not really being clear on exactly what it was or what it could do for me.
After watching a few videos and using it for a while, I completely agree! From spawning details and trees, all the way to placing walls, fences and buildings, it has made building my world so much easier than the out-of-the-box tools included in Unity. And it does stuff totally unexpected, like placing light probes and automatically placing my objects into the sectors defined in SECTR. It has definitely saved me hours of work.
Gena is a perfect complement to Gaia, and I highly recommend it!

There's no way I could do what I have planned without GeNa.

When I first got GeNa I wanted to dive straight in but soon realized it needs a little patience. Not much, however, the main video tutorial is less than half an hour and covers everything. After that a bit of practice and familiarization.
It's been a while since I did a forest and I'm now creating an underwater world using Yughues Underwater Plants v.2. After spending a few minutes reviewing that video things are coming together nicely.

We will drop a patch release of GeNa for 2019.x support in a few days, and the next release has been under constant development for the past 5 months. Can't wait to bring it to the asset store!

This is the high standard

wulfensteinon previous version 2.0.0
GeNa (1) was one of my first assets that I ever bought. In the beginning I had some problems with the placement. That was not the fault of GeNa, rather mine, cause of lack of knowledge. There are many options and if you don't know anything about terrains, it could be a problem to set everything correct.
So I watched the video-tutorials. Step by Step I understand the huge scalability with which you can place vegetation and objects.
I tested other vegetations-systems and always come back to GeNa.
In my opinion this is the high standard asset for vegetation and object placement on terrains.
Great work!

I got GeNa 2 with all of Adams other assets and this and Gaia put together you can make crazy terrains just by messing a little bit with GeNa and watching Adams helpful videos I figured out how to randomly generate rock mega-structures.
I highly recommend this for terrain touch up and populating.
Thank you for all of your hard work procedural worlds and I can't wait for your and our future.

We have some amazing new features in development and these will be arriving in the next month.
Some of the cooler features are complex structure support, and terrain painting support. There will be a bunch more as well.
Takes a little understanding of settings before I got it to work, but after watching the tutorials, I am very happy with it. Especially to add POI to the terrains I built in Gaia. One thing I wish GeNa 2 came with some of the spawners that Adam uses in the tutorials, but easy enough to put together.

We agree! In the next release that we are working on now, to deliver BIOME PAINTING, we will also be adding a preset system that configures GeNa optimally for the type of thing you want to spawn.
