By far the best 2D lights system I bought (and I bought 4 or 5 of them...). Very efficient: just drop a light component and there you go (colliders produces shadows immediately, even in the editor). No smoky stuff to setup. The result is very good, disabling the vertex coloring I got the result I wanted. Oh yeah, and did I mention the shadows and lights area are very precise?
I don't have an advanced usage out of it yet, but for the moment: great easy results. And I think this is important because it reflects the quality of the asset.
Makes me remember I bought Zippy Water as well a few months back and the results were as awesome.
So, big thanks for this affordable and efficient asset. It helps a lot indie developer like me and make the usage of Unity even more enjoyable.

Works really well, can achieve really good results just by playing around with the settings. Easy to use, self explanatory. A bargain for the price! The documentation could be a little more in depth if you want to find out more info about specific aspect, but the customer service more than makes up for it. Got a response lighting fast, very helpful and professional! Would definitely recommend for any 2D project.

If you just want 2d lighting this looks like it'd be really great, and it comes from a great developer who I've brought great assets from before so you can certainly trust them.
I however brought this for the masking, and whilst the end result of that is good it's just too difficult to integrate into my project. The masking relies less on lights and more on a multiple camera setup. I'm sure I could integrate it, but I'm just not sure its worth the effort, at the end of the day you buy an asset like this to skip that work yourself.
So yeh, if you want 2d lights this looks like a winner, if you specifically want 2d lights with masking at least bear in mind its not as simple as just dragging in a certain kind of light, and you will have to mess around with multiple cameras

The asset is okay, Soft Penumbras arent possible which is a feature i would need. Also changing lights towards a more isometric style isnt possible.
The light color changing and size can generate good looking Torchlights. Iam personally not using this anymore.

new Unity is giving compiling error UInt16 is unsupported
There are inconsistent line endings in the 'Assets/Zippy 2D/Zippy Lights 2D/Shaders/ZippyLight2DDesktop1L.shader' script. Some are Mac OS X (UNIX) and some are Windows.
This might lead to incorrect line numbers in stacktraces and compiler errors. Many text editors can fix this using Convert Line Endings menu commands.
So for now doesn`t work at all.

These issues should now be fixed in version 1.0.8 of the Zippy Lights 2D asset, in both Unity 2017.1 and Unity 2017.2.

The tool is excellent and give us several customiztions possibilities, this tool really changed the way the light system on my game looks.
The support is also incredible, very helpful and fast!
I highly recommend this asset for everyone that wants a good looking light on games.

Easy to use and great support

I've tried a few different 2D light tools. This one is very easy to use: you can just drop a light into your scene, tweak some easy-to-understand variables in the Inspector and get great results.
Granted, it is lacking any kind of event trigger system, but I was able to integrate my own solution easily by inserting a few lines into the script.
I did encounter one graphical bug in a certain use case. However, the developer was very helpful and responsive and fixed it quickly.
Highly recommended!

This package provides a nice 2D dynamic lighting system, just as advertised in the videos and demos. The provided components provide a lot of interesting parameters that allow for achieving various interesting and good looking effects.
Do note though that if you want to have a lot of these lights in your scene, you might run into some performance issues as the main component recalculates its mesh every frame (unless I missed an option to disable this). I had to implement some additional (game-specific) logic to make this recalculation "on-demand", thus to only occur when needed.
I also would have liked to have had a bit more documentation, but I was able to figure out everything I needed by looking at the demos or the code.
Overall a well-deserved 4/5. It's cheap and it works great and I was able to get exactly what I wanted from it.
Recommended purchase!
