No urp. Don't buy.

Sad that URP support will not be added. Please reconsider.

Don't buy this until they update to support URP

I was excited to use it in my URP project but realized it only supports Built-in, so I was incredibly disappointed. This is practically obsolete now.

This is definitely a great asset if you use it right on its own. But, Many systems are so organically connected from Weather Maker Script that it is very difficult to customize them. I haven't figured out all the features yet, but there are so many features that are mandatory. For example, even if you only want to use cloud system in an existing skybox, most of other systems must be left in the hierarchy, and some of them force changes to things like lighting environment settings. It may be my lack of ability, but I felt that each system was not completely independent.

Bought this in 2022. At the time I don't think the description noted no VR support (but maybe I missed it). Either way, realized very quickly it wouldn't work for me and requested a refund which seemed pretty straightforward. Idk if it's the developer or Unity support that botched it, but it took over a month to get a response that resolved nothing. The refund request is still outstanding. Others seem to like it so take it with a grain of salt, but checking on it now and seeing in 2024 there's been no updates to newer Unity versions or newer URP and still no VR support I would be cautious about buying it just from a compatibility and support perspective. It's outdated at this point and it doesn't seem like there's a plan to ever upgrade compatibility.

It does NOT work for URP 2022+, I spend two days to convert the aurora shader to URP. This is definitely not a friendly, modular, or anywhere near performant a weather solution, but it's a fantastic and intelligent toolbox for treasure hunters to explore.

TO HELP ANYONE HAVING TROUBLE INSTALLING THE ASSET GETTING IT TO WORK IN URP, here is what I did to solve the black screen issue: new built in regular 3d unity project. go to package manager install universal rp from unity repo, import weathermaker, done use the demo scene at WeatherMaker//Prefab/ScriptableRenderPipeline/URP/DemoSceneURP.scene. add or remove whatever else to this configured scene, maybe make a backup of it first to not have to reimport, and add things like your custom terrain and water, vegetation etc, and use weather maker for anything sky or weather related. yes the ground is black after this but thats intentional, you should use terrain or water to cover that, from what ive tested works perfect this way, and the dev has posted many patient videos explaning various parts of this asset on youtube

Stop looking at this asset! Only if you have this exact version: URP 11 on Unity 2021. Newer URP not supported. It would be sooo good to have this with support for newer versions.

EDIT: Just realised its stated it doesn't work in 2022 on the main page so its more my fault for misreading. Changed my review score to neutral since I cant remove it as a result since it's not really the devs fault. I do think it's a little unfair that they'd add a package that isn't compatible with the most recent version of URP to the bundle though. Hopefully I can change it to 5 if it gets updated. Same problem as the last few reviews. Tried to build their demo scenes in URP. Followed their guide in their txt documentation, doesn't work. Even tried reimporting their weathermakerurpforwardrenderer and readding the feature script which they seem to acknowledge as the source of potential bugs, making sure its after spaceshadows. Nothing. A little disappointed because it was one of the reasons I bought the 30 for 30 bundle so can't get a refund.
