New Review from 2020 (still 5 stars): ProFlares works straight out of the Box in Unity 2019 and Unity 2020, even with Universal Render Pipeline. There is little more I could ask for. The (beta) Pixel Occlusion works like a charm, even for ECS games that use Unity Physics, but it does struggle with the new URP Camera Stacks and probably can't conceptually work with this (the base camera is "blind" to what the others render, and vice versa). You can solve this by extending the code for those edge cases rather easily, I find. The best case would be some occlusion interface that user code could implement. The only thing I don't like is that ProFlares litters the Hierarchy with Helper Transforms and other GameObjects; I augmented them in my local install so they use HideFlags such as HideInHierarchy, HideAndDontSave, or DontSaveInEditor. Original Review from 2016 (5 stars): I had questions prior to purchase, and literally got a friendly and very competent reply in under 10 minutes after submitting a question on the Proflares.com website. The code appears clean and extensible at first glance; will update my review if something unexpected comes up - but I feel this is a very well-rounded, very complete lens flare solution.

It is now outdated, the developer told me he would get the update out this summer with more modernized feel and all warnings removed. I attempted to contact him multiple times, eventually he sent me a link to test but the warnings still persisted. Since, no attempts to reach him have succeeded, last response was July 30th, and I feel this is another abandoned asset now. It works if you don't mind warnings or know how to fix them yourself. Buyers beware.

Hi zKici, ProFlares has now had a full overhaul of the code to support all modern versions of Unity 2017,2018,2019. Standard, Lightweight and HD Render pipelines. Apologies for the delays, ProFlares will continue to be updated and maintained against all future updates of Unity.

Great asset! These flares are really good, if you want to improve your scene, just try to use it and you will be impressed :) . Big thanks for the good optimization. It works really nice on mobile devives. P.s. it works in Unity 5.5.0 (in case if you are sceared due to the latest comments related to the asset comptibility with the Unity 5.4)

This asset does not work in Unity5.4.2 (Multi Scene Editing). Developers did not update this asset more than a year. This is very bad.

Had reservations about buying the most expensive of all available options for lens flares on Unity. No regrets afterwards. NB: UNITY5: DON'T use the script update upon import or it will BREAK FlarePro If you DO go ahead with the update, then everything will appear to be working, except no flares will show up on camera, the included island demo will be partially functional (one flare shows up) but the MultipleCameraDemo does not work (all flares invisible). In the end, I only had to resolve one of the demo scripts by changing the #if UNITY_5_0 line to: #if UNITY_5_3_OR_NEWER
