Quick and easy to implement

Very fast response from the developer. It took me 10 minutes to get a star and sun setup in my space scene, brilliant package and service.

Working with the developer, we managed to get a great looking pixel-star night sky, working fine on PlayStation 4 / PSVR.
Simple to use and impliment - and excellent dev support.
Well worth it if you are looking for a skybox with what ever textures you want in the sky.

Not work in linear color space

This asset don’t work in linear color space. I want to use this asset with VRChat SDK, but I couldn’t. VRChat SDK uses linear color space by default.
However, other features are good. This asset supports 2 way to implement skybox: skybox material and sphere mesh. This is very useful.

I submitted a fix to add linear color support into the latest version (1.4) of Dynamic Starry Sky. The latest version is submitted for review and should be available tomorrow.

I used this in the new levels i am adding to my mobile game, and its fantastic. I had a small problem that was really just my mistake, but I posted a question, and got a very helpful response very quickly. I will be upgrading to the sky studio no doubt in the coming months.

This system is really lovely for randomly star-peppered night skies. Best used standalone, not designed to be used under another sky/day-night system, but otherwise really beautiful and easy to use. The Dev was available and friendly to my queries.
For advanced sky configuration (which this tool doesn't do), the Dev has another system I wish I had heard of much earlier: https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/?stay#!/content/107291

This looks very nice. Gradient is customizable to be anything you want. The only issue I have with it is on lower end iPhones, the shader doesn't work properly. iPhone 5 for instance: stars do not display at all and sometimes the app crashes when switching materials (changing day/night). It's related to the shader so I'm trying to figure out what is causing it. iPhone 6 + newer there are no issues. Everything works as expected. Giving 5 stars because it's truly a great assets, fit for mobile and other platforms. The only thing I would hope to see is compatibility on lower end iPhones like 5 - .

Hi There!
Thanks so much for the great review, and I'm glad you're enjoying DSS! I don't have an iPhone 5 to test with, however, I made a change in the most recent version (1.3+) that reduces the required texture size dramatically and changes our texture formats to a standard RGBA32 texture which likely will fix your iPhone 5 issues. My guess is that RGBAFloat textures probably weren't supported on those devices, so I've changed things to now use the most common texture format (standard RGBA32).

Wanted materials to be smaller

I can't afford to add 12 MB to my game for a skybox. I wish I could lower the resolution of the skybox to save space.

Thank you so much for the feedback, and I've fixed this issue!
I investigated further, and I'm really excited to share that Dynamic Starry Sky 1.3+ now only requires 750KB (Reduced all the way down from 12MB)!
