Extremely useful -- even in URP

This is a fantastic asset that provides essential functionality, especially for those of us with a background in graphic design. I’m using it in URP with Unity 2022.3, and it works perfectly for what I need. The developer doesn’t offer support for SRPs and is open about this, but I followed the instructions for URP in the docs and everything worked perfectly. If you are hoping to use this for URP, just read the docs first — all of the limitations and set-up instructions there are quite clear. That said, I do hope that the asset developer will continue to build out more support for URP in the future, since the SRPs are maturing and the built-in pipeline is being phased out. This is a great package, and I’d love to keep using it for many years with newer versions of Unity. Thanks!

The One and Only

I have no idea why this is the only asset that provides a solution for blend modes in unity, as it's quite common in graphic design softwares. My designer has Created UIs with blend modes in Figma, and this is the only asset that could fulfill those requirements. Highly recommend!

Good assets but still not fit for mobile (for now)

Bought and try this asset component month ago. It look awesome and help to improve visual significantly, but only for PC. while use mobile-friendly it didn't look well as I expected. hope it improve in the future.

There is a mobile-friendly mode. Check the documentation for unified grab and framebuffer optimizations.

This is exactly what I needed, when I needed it. It works perfectly (Unity 2021). I had a question about doing something particular with it, and the developer wrote back within a day, PLUS they added the info to the docs. Stellar support, and a perfect asset for when you need that extra special touch.

Shader Problem !

Thanks for this Asset! I use URP 11.0.0 and upgrade project material to URP successfully in unity 2021.1.19f1, but when I add "Blend Mode" component into my object. It still pop up the error message: Shader properties can't be added to this global property sheet. Trying to add _GrabTexture_TexelSize (type 2 count 1) UnityEngine.GUIUtility:ProcessEvent (int,intptr,bool&) but when I change render mode from "Self With Screen" to "Texture With Self" it's workable but the effect is not I supposed in photoshop. How can I fix this problem?

Hi, As mentioned in the description, SRPs (URP/HDRP) are not officially supported and require additional setup; see the docs for more info: https://goo.gl/tSAmB7

It's nice to make a static mockup for a 2D pixel game using blending modes, and even better when you can achieve the same effect in Unity and see it in action. Not complex to use, either. Just add the component to an object and play with it in the Inspector without having to figure things out with coding. Definitely worth it.

Great asset, but when I use 20 Game Objects (UI) performance drops from 30fps to 10fps. Please help me. How can you optimize? Blending mode "Difference".

Hi, As mentioned in the docs, stacking multiple blend mode effects will cause performance issues. Either enable "Unified Grab" or "Framebuffer" optimizations in such cases; see the docs for more info.

Awesome asset. Sometimes I don't really want to go messing around with shaders when I just want a simple Photoshop effect added to a UI element. This asset solves that perfectly.

Having trouble with Blend Modes in 2020.1 and LWRP

Great asset but it seems that this asset does not work in Unity 2020.1 with LWRP enabled. I get this error: Shader properties can't be added to this global property sheet. Trying to add _GrabTexture (type 3 count 1) UnityEngine.GUIUtility:ProcessEvent(Int32, IntPtr, Boolean&) And the sprite just does not render even when I use LwrpSpriteDefault Shader Family

Hi, Thank you for the review. Please notice, that it's mentioned both on the store page and in the docs, that SRPs are not officially supported. That said, there is still a way to make it work with URP/LWRP, but it will require additional setup and there will be limitations. You can find more info in the documentation. Be aware, that I won't be able to provide support for using Blend Modes with SRPs.

Great asset while using unity version 2019.2.3f. Then I updated unity version to 2020.2.1f1. I also update blend modes. But the unity stuck when i try to open prefab that uses blend modes (sprite renderer). Then I removed the blend modes & reinstall it. But problem still occurs. I think the blend mode editor stucks. Please solve the bug, I really want to use Blend modes in my project because I love it! Thank you.

Hi, Thanks for the review. This is a known issue caused by a Unity regression (bug) introduced in 2020.2. Here is the corresponding issue on the tracker: https://issuetracker.unity3d.com/product/unity/issues/guid/1300381 There is nothing I can do until Unity fix this, unfortunately. For a temporary workaround, consider downgrading to Unity 2020.1.
