A beautiful dynamic skybox
TagawaRyukion previous version 8.0.4
This is an absolutely beautiful asset that is easy to use while still providing loads of options for customization. As an added bonus, the developer of this asset is also very helpful. I can definitely say that this asset is well worth the money.

Loong time!

I purchased this asset a long time ago, and it's fantastic asset! It's easy to understand and integrate into my projects, and the support has been excellent.
Overall, it's a fantastic resource for indie developers!

The price for this is slightly low for what I get out of it. Using events with specific times of day is really easy to do, and that's what I wanted it for. Every day at 7 PM, I trigger a cutscene showing the day world turn to night, and trigger the lights to come on, and at 11 pm, the player is forced home to sleep until 7 am. Basic stuff for some, but for newer game designers like me, this asset made the process easy to control.
The weather changing is easy to use as it allows me to make an open world that has different weather on a daily basis in each scene/location.
It's not just a skybox or a day/night system. It's both and it works great.

now an extensive feature set, likely superb.
But I stopped upgrading when its API became incompatible and too much effort appeared to be necessary to recreate all I did before some 5 years ago. Thus I knock off 1 star.

You want clouds? That's not it!

Rensoburro_Takion previous version 7.1.4
You'll will get a 370MB heavy package, just for a simple skybox with "procedural" features. Skybox revelant, yes! But not when it comes to clouds. There is one static cloud layer, that can't be changed and you can define the speed or whatsoever. But you won't get anything regarding clouds. And for 370MB this is just a project filler. I like tiny solutions with great outcome. This is not such one! And day and night cycle features? Where do you really need that? And if so, how does this one then work together with other cloud systems?! So, if so - then one solution that can manages everything.

I'm sorry you didn't see how the clouds were made and how the asset works in the demo scenes available in the asset description (it also says: "Please don't leave without testing the demo scenes"), I thought the clouds were visible in the demo scenes, and it was possible to test its behavior when changing the weather.
There are also screenshots and videos, so whatever you can see in the demo scenes (not the 3rd party assets) is what you will get, so what makes you think the clouds would be any different from the clouds you see in the scenes? Did you expect a truly volumetric cloud solution even with the demo scenes showing and the description saying the asset doesn't support volumetric clouds?
"And day and night cycle features? Where do you really need that?"
Hah hah hah!!! Are you kidding me? So you have purchased a day/night sky system without needing a day/night sky system?
Regarding the asset size, I'm also sorry you did not see the asset comes with the beta package for testing new features, that lonely uses 190MB. Also, you may have not noticed, but the asset comes with redundant assets like textures, sound effects, etc... So you can select the best one and delete the unused assets, this way the asset will require just a few megabytes.
But anyway, thank you for taking your time to write the review! You can also use the forum if you have any feedback to improve the asset.

Light on the CPU, Full-featured system
DavidLiederon previous version 7.0.7
This is the only weather and sky system on the asset store that is very light on the CPU.
There are a ton of features that allow for amazing lighting, skies and scenes.
Yes, there is a bit of a learning curve, but I have all of the weather systems on the asset store and this is the only one that is light on the CPU. I could name other weather systems, but I will just say that other weather systems crush the frame rate and cannot be used because they are too "heavy" on the performance.
AZURE runs like a dream and is light on the CPU.
I even drop Azure in to every project I create, when I am building pieces of our game, or even testing an asset. It takes 30 seconds to add this to a scene, and immediately there is a full environment which helps with prototyping anything.
If you look at games like Valheim, Azure is the basis for skybox rendering of the cloud system. It is possible to create your own custom static clouds and colors, which are apparent in games like Valheim, and the creators of Valheim publicly stated that they tried every weather system on their own and "spun out their own", which "their own" is basically Azure with custom static clouds.
So Azure is what we use in my company and we are very pleased.
