Populating worlds with assets has never been easier. Tons of options giving lot of customization. Wide range of placement methods - from precision to controlled randomization are key features of this well-made tool.
The support staff is ready to help and tirelessly eliminate all issues that can stand in your way to create beautiful levels. I dare to say that this asset should be on any environment artist's toolbelt. I am glad that it's in mine.

Bought this asset because I saw a post about spawning objects on terrain and someone (I assume the creator) advised his asset meshbrush. Fortunately this works on Unity terrain.
The controls are a bit hard to work with though (P to place, but if placing on a prefab P opens the prefab :S)
It says in the documentation that combining meshes can't be undone, this isn't true though, close Unity without saving and it is undone (Noticed when Unity crashed and it was all gone).

Bought because it was 10 dollars, 1aud was buying 0.75USD at the time, somehow I was charged 32 dollars.
Pretty bummed about that BUT -
It works you just have to wrestle with it.
I struggle with "combine mesh" to get the results I want, but I can tell this is a powerful and useful asset, I just need to learn it better.
I don't think its possible to paint objects correctly while editing a prefab, you have to do it in the scene and then create the prefab out of that.

That sounds horrible! I would definitively try to contact the Unity Asset Store support about this.
13.25 AUD and 32 AUD just aren't the same thing... You paid almost triple the amount: that's unacceptable!
(I only got my 7 USD share out of what on my asset store dev dashboard looks like a regular 10 USD sale btw, so uhm. Weird indeed.)
About MeshBrush: yea, I'm aware of the prefab situation. The new prefab system introduced quite the challenges for me in this regard. I'm working on it already, it'll take a while for sure.
Can you please describe further how the combine mesh feature is giving you the spins? I'm interested, and don't hesitate to write me an email too :)

Powerful and solid tool. But the UI experience is not much intuitive. I need config every new add brush to use mouse0 as paint tool, but the dropdown of key code is too long to select it, and I need lockscene for continue painting. I think it should be better for make it default.

I bought this tool over 4 years ago and, for whatever reason, never got around to actually using it. What a mistake that was. I started using in one of my scenes today when another tool failed to do what I wanted and I quickly fell in love with this. I am now able to paint details on my terrain faster and get better results than I could have with manual placement. And painting on the terrain is far more fun than plopping things down manually. any day of the week.
My only criticism is that painting and erasing have to be done with slower, deliberate strokes. If you try to paint or delete while moving the brush quickly, it doesn't do anything.

I wanted to add that at $10, this is an absolute steal. It is easily worth 5 times that.

This is an absolute godsend. The amount of time and effort this tool saves manually placing things makes it more than worth the price.
I would definitely recommend this to anybody looking to add some more depth to their game worlds

ok last review I was wrong.. i failed to pay attention to video. sorry dev.
overall this plugin is the best at what is does.
only suggestion would be to collapse the layers section. it uses up too much space and you usually are not going to need to change that often.
overall very good asset for the price.
