DearUnityPleaseAddSerializableDictionarieson previous version 3.15.0
There are other reviews saying it's complex/difficult, but it is extremely powerful once you get used to it. I used other networking solutions but Nakama is my favorite.
If you have experience using backend servers or TypeScript, need social features etc, then this is perfect. It lets users authenticate using many different providers!
With such a rich feature set, it's supposed to be difficult/complex, but in the long-run it benefits.

Over the last few years we have invested heavily into Nakama and our associated documentation. It would be great if you were to give it another go and see if you have a vastly improved experience. As our goal is to continue to keep Nakama open source and free for the community and it would be great if you could provide an updated review based on your new experience.
-Documentation is lacking of clarity.
-There are not enough step by step tutorials, only for the login part, nothing more.
-Code in documentation sometimes have errors.
-Complicated to use even for simple things.

The Authenticate work fine on Editor, but when build for WebGL, its always get the following errors:
- To use dlopen, you need to use Emscripten's linking support
- System.DllNotFoundException: Unable to load DLL 'libc': The specified module could not be found.

Best networking solution available

louis030195on previous version 2.0.0
Pros:
- Modern technologies
- Good community
- Many clients (you could have unity client + JS for website)
- Good design (plugin-based, hooks, lua ...)
- Open source
Cons:
- No support, documentation for distributed cloud native deployment

setting up the server on windows is very hard and confusing to do and requires alot of external programs including cockroachDB and only supports that kind of database so its not very welcoming for MariaDB lovers like myself.

Thanks for the feedback. We chose a Postgres wire compatible database server so that developers can use Postgres, cockroachdb, or AWS Aurora for their data storage. We're pretty happy with the choice because it makes the technology very flexible for game studios.
We've got a Docker compose file which runs both the database and game server together as a single command on any platform. I'm not sure we could do much more to make it simpler but we'll try. :)
