This fantastic collection of core code and a demo scene encompasses everything needed to create a MMORPG. Having previously thought of my favourite genre as pretty much impossible to indie develop, Atavism changes everything. This is a very well thought out framework with lots of features that you can build upon however you like. Following the documentation I got my project running on a server and started working on my MMORPG in the same afternoon. I’ve done more than I could have hoped for in a few months since my project started on the last update. Hundreds of scripts, deep forests, characters, mobs and customizations. Few things in gaming are as fascinating as when you can dream up a world which can be explored together with others. Having all the difficult to do network logic pre-made by Dragonsan is incredibly helpful, and now being much better at programing than a few months ago when I started, I can see that it’s quality work behind it. I do recognize the flaws, like better commented and structured code would be helpful to give it more clarity. The majority is great though. This asset invites you to build and create upon it. It is exactly as it says - a framework - and an excellent and unique one. By now, I’ve built my own Proxmox server running Atavism and have made the whole process flow from updater to customized visuals and the game is already taking shape. I applaud the team at Dragonsan. They give us something never before seen, and with a bit of vision and work, very interesting games can be created out of Atavism. It's invaluable having the dirty groundwork already done. The community of co-developers at the Discord readily help and share this journey together with the team. It’s already great and improvements steadily come. Just get it.

In my opinion on of the best asset bundle to build your own mmorpg. Also the support on discord is great.

Since having this asset since Dec 2021, I have tried to get a custom server of my own to work, and although I have got them to work, they break within days even though I do not touch anything with unity or the server. The final straw to this was when I set up an oracle server with 11 cores and 66gb RAM and set it up and managed to get it working and login. I then leave the server live and leave it for a few days, come back to it and now even with a restart of the server "unable to connect to authentication server". I am done, I wish I have never tried this asset. And yes I have tried to get help from both forums and discord, I was just told I don't have enough memory. That's when I went overkill with 66 GB RAM and that still broke.

This package is extremely easy to use, whilst giving the author extreme power and control in creating MMORPG's. The 'old-school' advice was "do not build your own MMORPG". This product makes that advice obsolete. Not only is it extremely customisable (and contains most of the features that you would have in a trad.MMORPG), it deals with the networking aspects for you within ease. The support team are fantastic, as is the Discord community. It seems to have a road-map that is kept to and improved upon. Whilst the fee may seem expensive, the amount of time you will save plus help you would normally need, shows that it is in fact a bargain!

Definitely the best MMO framework on the market. And the best support. These guys with nerves of steel - who are always ready to understand your problem and find a solution! Thank you!

This framework is pretty much everything you need to build your own mmorpg right out of the box with very little setup. The support from the developer and the community on the discord is very helpful. The dev has personally helped me one on one with a part I was stuck on. This asset has any feature you can think of when you think of an mmorpg and almost everything can be done using an editor or ingame admin panel, with very little scripting knowledge required. If you are serious about putting in the time to make your own mmorpg, this asset will save you many years of setting up and is worth the price and then some.

This is one of the best frameworks I have ever seen for unity and to get everything running with so much ease not to mention how many videos they have helping you get it up and running. I cannot say enough about how easy it is to setup and so fast with power. I cannot believe all the stuff this has there is no need to look anywhere else because this has it all and when I say all I mean all. They have thought of everything to get this up and running. I am so happy with this buy and to get it on sale was a steal by miles on how much work they have done with this framework. This product is a MUST HAVE!!

For sure the best MMO framework on the market. On top there is the best support team helping you with all of the issues pretty much 24/7. Tons of features with unlimited of customization options. Would recommend to anyone. Keep in mind if you want to add new features on your own, you still need to have Java knowledge.

For everyone thinking of buying this product - the answer is YES. I have used a variety of MMO frameworks and toolkits before, crafted and created my own, and tried a variety of separate "easy" to use templates before. Atavism absolutely blows all of them out of the water - with it's incredible ease of access and use, brilliant UX design and overall intuitiveness. While a level of technical and Unity knowledge can be required for some of the initial setup, there is a great community in their Discord that can guide almost anyone through that process. Actually using the product is a breeze, and the clever design of the components and systems means that most anything you need to do is a couple of clicks away. Atavism comes with a Stand-alone Editor that is used to edit the majority of game "data" such as NPC profiles, player templates, spells, events and much more - and it is one of the easiest to use and most well designed programs I've had the pleasure of using. In terms of how Atavism's features compare to almost every other MMO toolkit available, it's right at the top, setting itself up as the "Gold Standard" of what should be included - as it has almost every feature available that you could want when creating an MMO such as an in depth, complex spell/effect system, world instancing, dungeons and private instances, auction houses, player shops and so much more. These features can be experienced in their Live Demo, but are also all incredibly easy to use and understand due to the provided demo setup, which contains some premade spells that mimic a variety of common spell types in popular MMOs (such as placed AOEs, targeted spells, heals and others), races, characters and other content that lets you jump right in to it with no hassles and no guesswork, unlike many other kits that require a lengthy read or a PHD in cryptography to decipher. Atavism serves as the perfect base to create your world on top of - and while it won't be a fully-fledged game right out of the box, you can take it from purchase to a viable game in no time due to the ease of content creation and the intelligent design behind handling aforementioned content. Given the incredible flexibility of the readily available content in Atavism, you could almost entirely make a basic MMO with close to zero coding, and have it up and running in a week (dependant on how comfortable you are with Unity). With such an amazing depth of features, user friendliness and great design - Atavism is the ideal product for anyone looking to create their own MMO, or even as a hobbyist tool to share a world with your friends.
