I Hope They Keep The Original Umodeler Around

I'll start with what I actually like here. The UI is MUCH better on this version. Its roomy and you can clearly see what each tool does. The modifiers are a bit limited but its an interesting addition. Negatives: First off, having to make an account and log into a third party hub for an asset is really irritating to be honest. You also have to consent to giving away personal information before the account is made which wasn't great. This means that if you restart or move onto a lot of different projects, the install process isn't quite as buttery smooth like it used to be. ---- I was going to leave three stars but I had another read of the manual and they (seemingly) make clear that the assets are for different use cases. I sincerely hope they maintain both because I bought umodeler simply because its an unparalleled level design and prototyping tool. 'X' feels more like it's for fully creating scene props etc.

Got it at a great Black Friday price! perfect for quick mesh fixes inside Unity

I picked up UModeler X Plus during the Black Friday sale at a really good price, and it’s been a solid addition to my Unity workflow. It’s great for quick mesh fixes and prototyping inside Unity, especially when I want to make small adjustments without jumping between different tools. For smaller tasks, it genuinely speeds things up. It definitely speeds up small tasks, and I’ve noticed how much smoother my scene editing flow feels. That said, it’s not meant for heavy, detailed modeling work. Just keep in mind it’s not suited for detailed modeling, I still move to Blender for anything complex. Even so, for everyday edits and quick tweaks, it’s been pretty handy. Having these tools available directly in Unity makes a big difference in convenience.

Best modeling tool in Unity

I've tested several options available to model inside Unity and sincerely I have to say this one is by far the best. I can't say it's perfect (Yet not tried Pro so maybe that one might be better) but overall It's very useful for hard surface modeling and has many interesting tools regarding this purpose. Ui is quite easy and I got not much need on reading the documentation yet, still there it is. Some people complains on the price but to be true, this is really cheap compared with most of the 3d modeling soft out there, even more if you get it on a sale as I did. Finally in case you need support there is a very active and responsive community on discord were umodeler team will answer your questions. So, would I recommend? No doubt.

The Most Essential Modeling Tool in My Unity Workflow

I’ve been using UModeler for many years now — long before UModeler X existed — and I can not imagine a unity without it anymore. With UModeler X, the team has taken everything to the next level. As a solo developer working on multiple long-term projects, the ability to model, adjust, and iterate directly inside the Unity editor has saved me an incredible amount of time. The tool feels modern, fast, and thoughtfully designed. The amount of fun working with it and instantly see the progress in your environment is an awesome feeling. The UI is clean, the performance is great, and the feature set keeps expanding with powerful additions — the new Meshy AI integration is especially exciting and shows how forward-thinking the team is. What I appreciate most is how reliable it is. I can switch between level design, quick blockouts, or detailed modeling without ever leaving Unity. It has genuinely improved my workflow, creativity, and productivity for years. On top of that, the UModeler team is one of the friendliest and most supportive teams I’ve interacted with. They listen to feedback, update frequently, and really care about their community. If you’re working in Unity and want a flexible, intuitive modeling pipeline right inside the engine, UModeler X is simply unbeatable. Highly recommended.

AI, Lack of Documentation and Partial Functionality

I'm very frustrated. I've purchased this MULTIPLE times over the years. The Inclusion of AI is not appropriate. Combined with the fact that basic features are missing (Raising and Lowering the Grid, Shapes Actually forming, etc.) and the terrible state of the documentation make this a terrible purchase for me. I'm horribly disappointed.

Hello, this is the UModeler X team. First of all, we are incredibly grateful for your support over the years. It is painful for us to hear that a loyal customer like you is "horribly disappointed," and we sincerely apologize for letting you down. You are absolutely right regarding the AI functionality. To be transparent, our AI Texturing was built upon Stable Diffusion and WebUI technology from about three years ago. We have reached the internal conclusion that it is no longer feasible to maintain this legacy code while trying to advance UModeler X. Therefore, we have decided to deprecate the AI features entirely within this month. This will allow us to stop wasting resources on outdated features and focus 100% on the core modeling tools you actually need. It was a significant oversight on our part that the product description still highlighted AI Texturing despite this decision. We apologize for this confusion and have updated the description to reflect reality. Moving forward, AI features will only be accessible in specific previous versions of Plus/Pro. Regarding the basic features you mentioned ("Raising and Lowering the Grid" and "Shapes actually forming"): We want to make sure we address exactly what you are facing to fix it immediately. The pricing, installation hub (extra login and installation steps causing a whole project import) makes it much less practical to use than the previous UModeler

With UModeler X Plus, once you log in the first time, you won’t need to log in again, and the tool works without an internet connection. Compared to the original UModeler, X Plus offers a much richer and more complete feature set — including rigging, painting, modifiers, and high-poly modeling, so you can build more advanced content directly in Unity. In addition, through the hub we provide extra 3D assets, giving you more resources to start creating right away. We’ll continue working to improve the installation experience so that it feels as smooth and practical as possible while maintaining the benefits of these added features. 1、首先是UV,我新建了一个长方形,点击UV,却显示的是一片白,此时可以拖动UV,但是根本看不到UV所在位置(因为一片白),感觉像是BUG一样,而用其他建模软件展UV时,却十分清楚得显示出展出的UV的样子(我会使用Blender)。 2、此外,并没有提供更精准的直接拖动材质到建模的功能。比如免费的Probuilder中,可以直接拖动材质到某一个面上,而不是直接赋值给整个模型。 3、软件不支持多语言,毕竟现在是个建模软件都是多语言的。至少unity支持的语言也应该支持一下吧。

Best purchase I ever made

I got good at pro-builder, then umodeller and after that I was kind of hitting a wall so I turned to blender. Blender still has a lot more to it but Umodeler X Plus has everything you need for making your levels and 3d stuff right in unity. It's texture paint is way easier than setting that up in blender. It has rigging unlike umodeller or Pro-Builder and a ton of other stuff I haven't tried yet plus it works out of the box in Unity 6 and previous version. Amazing Asset I'm very excited to keep using it. Hard to believe that Umodeler X Pro has even more stuff.

Great features, lots of workflow-breaking bugs

While the features are quite good, UModeler X is ultimately fairly frustrating to use in production because of its many bugs. Updates are frequent and you can get a response from support, but I have filed many pretty critical bugs with UModeler X corrupting its own meshes, deeply affecting editor performance, and other issues, all of which have not yet been resolved. On many occasions, a UMX update broke the build but not the editor experience, leading to difficult to track down bugs. I hope the product matures soon, but it's difficult to use even in a medium-sized project.
