This procedural generation plugin for Platform Builder Pro will make the platforms for you with the click of a button. You could make an endless runner type game, or a 2.5D platformer. The sky is the limit!

control over number of sections in the platform
whether or not to replace the sections of the platform for quick re-generation if you don't like the currently generated platform
control over the horizontal and vertical frequency of the platform
section length is randomly generated and the min/max length can be clamped down
