I did just use this on one object from sketchfab, in Unity 2021.3.21f1, and it did work.
Last update from 2021. As of April 2023 the publisher website is down, and last Internet Archive update was Sept 2022. I think it was abandoned far before. At least IA has the help pages, which said to add it as a component to the object to be simplified. https://web.archive.org/web/20220720015331/http://www.ultimategametools.com/products/mesh_simplify/help

Can not use because Unity will crash or sometime success but model is bad. I try in blender It's so good and free. Can I refund ?

Be careful and read this to the end.
I gave this 5 star Because this asset is really really awesome! It reduced the vertex count 5x, from 10000 to 2000 I meant).
The thing is if your mesh is not read/write enable it makes it enable first but it gives error and your 3D model disappears. When you click to compute mesh button again then it works beautifully...

Great asset with some unique features

Fantastic asset which imports and works without issues in 2019.4 - I like the fact you can add overlay spheres to mask which parts of the mesh you want less affected by Mesh Simplify.
If you tick on the Enable Prefab field, it will save the optimized asset to disk under Assets
I have tried a lot of mesh optimizers and this one does a great job and having the capability of using the masks is a major plus in my book.

DO NOT BUY: THIS ASSET DOES NOT WORK with UNITY 2019.3.2f1.
I have contacted the vendor, asking for a refund via their website form, but received no response.
I have contacted Unity, but received no response.
Avoid at all costs, as it does not work.

Hi, with the last version of unity (2019.2.17) I had these kind of errors when I try to compile my app for Android and Ios:
Assets/Ultimate Game Tools/MeshSimplify/Editor/MeshSimplifyEditor.cs(8,35): error CS0246: The type or namespace name 'Editor' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)
Any help to solve this issue??
