Beautiful Scenes
Apollo11_1969on previous version 1.47
Mega Scatter has really helped me make beautiful scenes. It makes laying out vegetation easy; a lot easier than other methods I've tried. It makes my scene design, flexible and easy to change quickly; with a few clicks you can massively change the look and feel of a scene.
Check out some of the scenes in my game project that Mega Scatter has helped me to create: https://youtu.be/it3k9nnx7HM

Fantastically useful asset from a responsive, helpful developer

Incredibly powerful, performant tool to scatter gameobjects and meshes in a variety of ways. Also the developer is very responsive -- the rare times I come across an issue with MegaScatter, he has been able to help me solve it straight away. Highly recommended, especially if you're doing anything with procedural generation.

One of the very best assets I have purchased. Incredible functionality and flexibility. Easy to implement. Very responsive and excellent support. Product is regularly updated with new features and fixes, plus it's kept up-to-date with new Unity releases. Couldn't recommend more highly.

I've decided to take this asset 'cause I've got too many issue with Vegetation Studio Pro (no colliders and so on)
So I've started by creating a small wood, with trees, with colliders and some scripts attached on each prefab.
Mega Scatter grant to places gameObjects inside an area that can be delimited by a spline, closed or not, and, as a game-object can be anything: animated, static, even with datas for AI's nav-map.
But the most astonishing is the FPS, or if you prefer the drawcalls witch still good even when you have thousand of stuff on the screen.
MegaScatter is magic :)
4 on 5 'cause form time to time, when you crate a new shape, it won't recognize/fill the shape, I'm not sure why, I'm not even able to reproduce the "bug".
Also, would be nice to have some sort of "thumbnails" on the gameObjects list, 'cause when you have loooong list of objects could be hard to recognize it.
Finally would be nice to save the list and re-use it.
I've made a prefab but won't work, so ATM the only trick still clone a "mega-scatter" already present on the scene (that feature could be worth the 5th star :-)

I'm a little torn on this package. What it does well, it does really well, e.g:
1. Performance: Incredible
2. Speed: Amazing and is super quick
3. Price: For the time it saved me, excellent
...but I am let down by a couple of points:
1. The screenshots above states "No overhang option", but unfortunately it doesn't exist and I didn't get a response to my email to the developer. I end up with rocks hanging over cliffs which was the only reason why I needed this asset.
2. Texture scattering doesn't seem to work that well: I have an object which has a material on it and I want to scatter a grass object on only the green areas on that material. You can't seem to do this.
If the support was better or documentation was a little clearer, and the above would be possible/fixed, this is definitely a 5 star asset and worth every penny.

I wanted to scatter objects on surfaces, and this tool does it. Perfect. I was worried it wouldn't support my specific objects that I spawn at runtime, but thankfully the tool doesn't care it just scatters whatever you point it at.
The only criticism I will point out is that the product's website is a terrible mess that actively seems to hinder you in finding the documentation you're looking for. It's not a showstopper because the tool itself is fairly intuitive, but I pulled a star off of the rating.

Poor workflow..
BuildABurgerBurgon previous version 1.28
This really is in need of a basic plot path feature. having to do it this way takes far to long.
I've had this tool for a long time and I haven't seen anything added since purchase.
I think you could at least add this very needed feature. This tool is not cheap so could you do the right thing here.
If you purchase this tool you will need to buy another of their overpriced tools to be able to have a good workflow.
Do you really want to have to keep tweeking these arrows that are squashed together giving you no indication which one is which. This is a tedious annoying tool that should be avoided. There're much better tools out there that have better developers behind it.

Hi There
I am not sure what you mean by plot path feature, and having to buy another of our assets to use MegaScatter, MegaScatter comes with our spline asset included and you can easily layout paths and change the shapes or import splines from Maya, Max or Blender. We haven't had any emails from you requesting any new features either, if you have something you don't like or a request for a new feature you just need to email us and ask if we can add or change something, or even post on the forum but I don't see any posts or emails from you at all. We have not had any other users say that dragging points on splines is too hard to use, it comes with helper shapes like circle, box etc which you can easily change the size of and then drag the points or add points as you need, also you can turn of the knot handles if it is too cluttered for you and or change the handles to free move handles to make it even clearer.
If you can let me know which other tool is required to make a good workflow I would be most interested as I cant see any of our other assets being of any help in using MegaScatter.
And you say we don't care about customers and have not updated MegaScatter, well that is unfounded, we have updated all our packages with new features or bur fixes as we get them or find them, the fact no one has asked for any new features for MegaScatter inidcates people are happy with the features, if there is something you would like to see then you should get in touch, as I said we have not had any emails from you asking for a plot path or any other feature so hard to add something we dont know is wanted.

Huge time saver, build size saver, draw call saver, responsiveness saver

RDon previous version 1.26
MegaScatter saves responsiveness of my games on weaker devices. Runtime auto batching of scattered objects saves huge amouts of drawcalls without any effort on my part. If you fight to batch well, this is a HUGE value. It's easy to adjust the density of objects scattered in a scene when I need to put less load on a device, If my game detects poor frames per second, it can reduce grass, rocks, bushes... in real time. Nice! Love how placement can automatically adapt to procedurally generated objects. Being able to mask some objects so that flowers, bushes, rocks,... don't appear in wooden planks or brick paths makes auto placement look great. Great asset! Can't say enough good things about it.

Outstanding Tool

Claytoniouson previous version 1.26
Mega Scatter is fantastic and solves a lot of problems in an elegant way. I highly recommend it. As with almost all serious tools, the user interface is clunky as Hell - this is just the nature of using Unity's primitive inspector tooling without investing in a completely custom UI, so life goes on.

all colliders disabled!!!
shrinidhi666on previous version 1.25
Just tried a few test and it disabled all the colliders in the scene! . Any reason why it happens? . Using Unity 5 .
Edit : I made a new scene with only the GOs needed for scatter and it worked like a charm. An awesome tool to have .

Hi There
This is not the place to ask questions, if you can submit a support ticket outlining the steps you are taking so we can recreate the problem we can find out what is happening.
