Bad bad bad product

shanoasaberon version 3.5.6
Bugs are everywhere. even the most basic ones are often seen. I filed bugs on Discord but no support anymore. The developers may have put all their efforts into developing the TWC4. Yes! when the TWC3 still had a lot of unresolved problems, they began to rush to develop the next generation to earn money.

Great tool!

m0rph3us1987on version 3.5.6
After playing around with the tool for a few days, I can say that it's a very good tool. Very easy to use. Occasionally, tiles don’t get rendered, but it quickly turns out that it’s because you forgot to check a box or something similar. That’s not the tool’s fault, though. The only real downside is the very sparse documentation. It’s enough to get started, but not much more. On the other hand, it’s not rocket science either. As a complete Blender refuser, I was now forced to get to grips with Blender in order to learn how to create custom tiles. A small tutorial would really make sense here (even though the tool itself has nothing to do with 3D modeling). Still, it would be helpful at the beginning to know what to pay attention to and what not to — that cost me quite a bit of time when creating the tiles. Conclusion: Once you understand how to create your own tiles, it's a very good tool for quickly creating tile-based landscapes. A must-have.

Thanks a lot for the great review! Really happy to hear you’ve been enjoying the tool and found it easy to use. I also really appreciate your feedback on the documentation. Even though the tool isn’t directly about 3D modeling, I know that jumping into Blender can be a hurdle, especially for first-timers. A simple tutorial to cover the basics and point out common pitfalls is a great idea — I’ll definitely look into adding something like that to help make the process smoother. Thanks again for your kind words and constructive input!

It's a really great asset. However, there is only a basic tutorial. That's a shame.

Looks Good But not enough doc on Custom Assets

BaraX94on previous version 3.5.2
I tried the random-gen and it is awesom. However, in my opinion the Custom Tiles Doc is not enough,,, I know this not a How-to make 3D obj, but I hope they make atleast video tutorial on how to or the process to make 4-Tiles to be compatible with the Assets. as it seems to me that the pivot ppoint is not always on Ceneter

Thank you for your review! I appreciate your feedback and understand the need for clearer guidance on creating custom tiles. I'll work on improving the documentation and consider creating a video tutorial to demonstrate the process. A good starting point is using a default Cube, ensuring your tiles stay within its dimensions as the maximum bounds. For consistency, the pivot point of all included tiles is centered on the X and Z axes, while the Y position can vary (e.g., 0 or 0.5).while Y position can be varied. (0 or 0.5 for example)

decent i guess

rycornxon previous version 3.5.2
The main thing this has going for it is the paint tool for the grid. this is the only asset that has it and I still can't reverse-engineer how it works to edit and make it a bit easier for me. it can decently make combined meshes of your tiles that are in chunks at the press of a button. However, it quickly becomes unmanageable if you want more than 1 vertical layer or any kind of randomness, as all of those all need their blueprint and spawner sections, and each is spawned their own as their own chunk and layer so you couldn't say, have the floor and wall be the same object in the chunk. While a decent asset that could be of some use, it is hindered by the fact that there are almost no 3d tilemap models out there anywhere on the internet (as far as I can find) so unless you have modeling skills it quickly becomes a good tool but nothing to use it on

Thank you for your detailed review! I'm glad to hear that you find the grid paint tool and chunk-based mesh combining useful—these features are indeed core strengths of the asset. I appreciate your insights on the challenges with managing vertical layers, and your suggestion to streamline workflows like combining layers (walls and floors in your example) into the same chunk is a valuable one for future updates. I understand that the scarcity of 3D tilemap models can be a hurdle, especially for users without modeling skills. I'm already considering, providing additional tile packages of different types. Thank you again for your honest input! Your observations will help me continue improving the asset for everyone. If you have further suggestions or need guidance, feel free to reach out! 😊

Thank you for your review and feedback. I'm glad to hear you like TWC. Providing a comprehensive tutorial that shows the entire process of creating a map, including how to model tiles or use pre-made tiles, is a fantastic suggestion. Thank you again for your input!

The tool might take you a second to get up to speed as to how it works, but it is very well made and enjoyable to use, not to mention useful. Not only that but the support for it seems to be top tier, I pointed out an issue and it was resolved with a patch quickly.

Version 3.4, I couldn't save the data generated for the second time. After the second time I generated the terrain, I switched the scene back and the previous generated terrain was gone

A lot of potential
bjbagheron previous version 3.3.0
This is really frustrating because this asset shows a lot of potential. There is almost no documentation or support. There is one piece of documentation that is extremely concise and doesn't expand on any of the features. Making your own tiles is extremely hard and there is no guides for it. Without you being able to use your own tiles, sadly, this is unusable.

Thank you for your review. Are you referring to the old documentation? Because there is a new reworked one at: https://doorfortyfour.github.io/TileWorldCreator TileWorldCreator comes with plenty ready to use tiles and demo scenes. Making your own tiles can be complicated when you're not profound with 3D Modeling, but every 3D Artist should be able to create tiles very quickly. There's also a guide regarding custom tiles: https://doorfortyfour.github.io/TileWorldCreator/#/CustomTiles
