I have to admit that it was a very good tool that served me well a year ago, BUT I had to have it completely rewritten by a friend, because it didn't work at all.
And I'm very disappointed that the author didn't make the slightest effort to keep the addon up to date, AT LEAST for the LTS version. I can't give better rating at the current date.

waste of money, its so ancient

uses ancient old GUI system, big bummer
i wanted to edit the UI but blegh
and the adjacent wall maker thing like only works for walls
it woulda been nice if it worked for like water and stuff, where it has corners and a center and etc but nah its just for walls
big disappointment
it feels so ancient

This tool is not for level design. It is hard to click on the correct grid. Also, the autotile is buggy. When I placed a new tile the adjacent tiled does not update. And there are some times the tiles are missing.

I've updated this review to reflect the fantastic quality and amount of work that has gone into this asset. It does provide a ready-made tile editor which works at runtime. Great if you wanted to add mod support for your game or even just to author content in a quick and efficient manner.
I sincerely hope you continue to add features and continue optimising the code.
The contents section of the documentation links to a wordpress blog which doesn't let normal users access draft entries. The documentation is there, you just have to scroll through it yourself ; ]

1) Hardcoded directives: #if UNITY_5_0 || UNITY_5_1 || UNITY_5_2 || UNITY_5_3 || UNITY_5_4 || UNITY_5_5 || UNITY_2017 || UNITY_2018 || UNITY_2019....why author did not use something like "UNITY_2017_1_OR_NEWER" ? I already told him in previous version. Every new Unity version he has to add support for new editor by hand!
2) This is really not a way how to wait for something to load async:
yield return new WaitForSeconds(0.1f); // making sure that everything is loaded
3) Code completition does not work for (I had to rewrite it):
runtimeBuilder = (uteRuntimeBuilder) this.gameObject.GetComponent<uteRuntimeBuilder>();
Overall quality is really bad and author did not learn to fix it even I gave him feedback a year ago! I took time to write this review to check differences between version 2.4 and 2.6. I had to rewrite a lot of his core parts to make it work and my startup failed to get investor, because we were late, because I had to fix this mess instead of building new features. But it was still faster than writing mesh combine utilities from a scratch. I could live with ugly core methods, if it would be easily extensible. But author keeps repeating same mistakes again and again. I wrote such code in C in MS-DOS. Today in C# we have better tools and also OOP, but this project is like basic scripting mess everywhere.

Terrible documentation

I'm an experienced .NET developer (over 10 years) and I cannot work out how to use this outside of the demos.
The documentation doesn't help me at all as I can't see how to do even the basics. A proper walk-through guide of how to get started would be appreciated, and frankly, given its a paid asset, I expect detailed API reference docs and some form of getting started guide.
Personally can't recommend this asset until the developer updates their documentation as decent docs are just as important as a bug free product.

I had bought this asset and it did not work at all. I tried to contact the dev and received no information on how to get it to work properly. I still think this is a great asset and you should try it but it simply won't work in the project I already have.
