  • CLEAR PURPOSE, Light Occluder cuts down the amount of rendered light to improve performance, the benefit is more predominant the more lights you have and the less powerful the system running the game is.

We made a series of tools before, each designed to improve performance of your games in a different way, we made Dynamic Resolution, a tool that tracks the performance in the background, and when the FPS drops below a developer specified target it automatically lowers the rendering resolution to pick it up, and it uses FSR to maintain visual quality. It is our most loved tool to date.

We set out to develop more tools that maximize performance in smart and unique ways, Light Occluder is our next step, our focus with this tool is delivering powerful functionality with frictionless setup, we want our users to have the tool up and running in seconds, and we believe we delivered on that.


  • CUSTOMIZATION & ARTISTIC CONTROL, you can apply a global range from beyond which lights are culled, or apply a custom per light range, to make the transition less harsh Light Occluder lowers the light intensity based on a customizable editor curve, you can apply a global curve applied to all lights, or a per light curve. Global range and curve are applied by default. The result is a tool that works without a setup and at the same time offers a wide range of properties to further finetune it for your own project.
  • THOUGHTFUL DESIGN, to ensure a frictionless integration Light Occluder is designed to work with no special setup, simply add a Light Occlusion Manager from Unity's toolbar and you're done, it automatically ignores directional lights and area lights, and is project aware, it automatically accounts for any light created after the fact.
  • HIGHER PERFORMANCE, we have noticed a 20-40% increase in FPS in the demo scene, the performance uplift is even bigger on slower systems, giving your players with low-end hardware a better experience.
