Very fast to implement on iOS and support is not dead

I wanted to give 5 stars in this review, mainly because I got an incredibly fast reply to my lengthy late night support request - within just 15 minutes! I was happily surprised to get a potential solution to my time sensitive issue. The issue was this error on Android: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: in.locomotion.plugins.login.GoogleLoginKit The suggested solution was changing proguard & minimisation settings to ensure the class isnt stripped, which was apparently a semi-common Android problem, though there is no mention of this in the readme. Unfortunately that diagnosis and solution was wrong for my case and Android didnt work. Fortunately I could get iOS to work with just about an hour of work, which was a relief. I asked further and received more suggestions, and spent lots of time trying to rule out many causes. Unfortunately it took me several workdays to find out that the projects custom main gradle template was a bit out of sync with the used Unity version (upgraded to 2020.3.40f from earlirer versions). I also tried with 3-4 other Unity versions and this asset as standalone project. After many iterations and checking the gradle file manually line by line, I finally got Kotlin and everything to work properly and nicely on Android. The UX is just what I wanted, great. Now I assume that implementing google sign in on Android is a PITA with any asset or tutorial and the custom gradle template issue is not at all the fault of this assets creators. Still I had to remove I star because a (maybe frustrated) person answering my mails didnt answer my repeated but very simple questions such as which Gradle/Kotlin versions they have verified to be working and compatible (nor did they send me an earlier non-kotlin version for testing, despite mentioning the possibility). Despite the issues, I would probably use this asset in another project for the same purpose because it feels familiar now and others likely have their own issues.

Kotlin versions are incompatible with other plugins

Hello. Lately I have been encountering compatibility problems more and more often on projects. By method of elimination I find a conflicting plugin, and I'm engaged in selection of the version, so that the build could work correctly. Could you make an update of the plugin version, so that in the future such problems did not happen? Library/Bee/Android/Prj/IL2CPP/Gradle/unityLibrary/src/main/java/`in`/locomotion/plugins/login/GoogleLoginKit.kt: (41, 9): Class 'kotlin.Unit' was compiled with an incompatible version of Kotlin. The binary version of its metadata is 1.6.0, expected version is 1.4.2.

Android build is not compiling. Publisher is not responding.

I've bought this plugin 10 days ago in hope to save time by purchasing ready-to-go solution. As a result I wasted full day trying to make this plugin to build. I use Facebook SDK 11 + Firebase and it seems like this plugin conflicts with one of them (I assume it's Facebook). Android jar resolver adds org.jetbrains.kotlin.kotlin-stdlib-common-1.5.10 and other Kotlin libs for Facebook. But this GoogleSignIn plugin also triggers Unity to enable Kotlin plugin with another version for gradle project. Basically, jsmekal described the issue and workaround in review downbelow. Unfortunately, this workaround doesn't work for me. As far I understand, this a common issue with this plugin. And to be honest, I paid 18$+tax for a working solution, not compiling errors and outdated video tutorial (4 years old btw). At least the publisher could warn that this plugin has compatibility issues if you have Facebook SDK or Kotlin libs in the project. May be provide with working solution or troubleshooting guide out of the box. Anyhow, I decided to go with google plugin from GitHub and requested a refund from the publisher on the very same day I bought the plugin. It's been 10 days already with no reply. Seems like I'm being ignored by the publisher. And I'm not the only one, judging by the reviews. Oh, well. I guess I have to ask Unity Support to look into the situation.

Hi. U were refunded on the same day you requested it because we can't provide u support if u r having complex project issues abd we have our occupancy at the moment . Also the reason we didn't reply was because we were planning to send a pre compiled sdk instead of currently open android kotlin code sdk so that integration is even smoother but we couldn't this year. Issue u have described is not Facebook or us, its unity with android kotlin files and it is already resolved in 2022 and hopefully it will come in other versions soon. However we have given resolution and it worked for everyone so far. Difference with github is that we do gave a 4 yrs old video but it uses latest google login sdk and everything upto date unlike the github project which uses 5 yrs old outdated sdk. Our sdk is super easy for technically savvy for high end developers but it could be steep learning for rest . Anyways, Its Christmas time so all the best to you and everyone with new games release.
