Prefabs look good. But it's one of those assets that try to do everything for all use cases which results in really bloated code: editors, needless GUIs for instructions, abstractions for nothing (just let me change camera directly and not through your script ffs) etc etc
Will require effort to make it fit your project and clean up all the unnecessary stuff. Also real time mode is really costly to FPS (I had 100fps drop)

Great but requires extra effort to make work well with 2D games

I tried to use this for a 2D game, and it had a lot of issues that needed to be fixed one by one.
The boundary for the map wasn't aligned with the right axis which made things not get rendered in the map texture correctly, would be nice if there was a setting to change this.
The player icon didn't rotate with the player.
The map pointers/entities don't track Y positions, so the map pointers are always at Y of 0, I was making a top down perspective game so I needed to change this to make pointers usable.
All in all I think this asset was probably designed with 2D as an after thought, so to make it work might require a bit of effort, but it did reduce the time it would take implementing all the features from scratch.

Custom inspector code do not support UNDO.
Also, there is data in the Resources folder that is not needed at runtime.

Slick but not perfect

The prefabs are nice and the asset works well however the baked version still uses another camera which is still costing me some fps. Also the baker tool has some weird restrictions and you seem to have to bake multiple slices of your map if over 1km squared.

It is easier to set up than other similar assets, and if it works as expected, it will be the best asset.
However, There is no guidance for supporting URP to begin with, and although I managed to make it compatible with URP by trial and error, the map did not synchronize with the rendered 2D map and was misaligned, making it unusable.

The minimap itself looks great and at first it looks really easy to implement. I run up to a huge problem tho...
The minimap doesn't match the player's movement speed so when the player is moving the minimap loses focus of the player icon. It's not centered. It might even go completely out of the minimap area.
If the developer find a way to fix that I will update my review.

Hi,
You can toggle off the option in bl_MiniMap inspector > Position Settings > Smooth Player Position Tracking, that will fix this.
Regards.
