Not even remotely "Pixel Perfect"

If you are making a pixel art game and using a pixel font, forget it. This just blurs your text. Unfortunately it won't let you use a Text Asset either, it has to just be the .ttf font, so I can't override it to use a point filter. So I have completely wasted my money.

Anybody who considers this asset is encouraged to evaluate "Lorem ipsum" version first, available from the asset home page. Occasionally some TTF files have quirks which don't make them work well with the Unity built-in font renderer. About wanting to do slight customizations for the rendering: You can use a custom material and shader by unchecking "Auto Set Font Material" (please check the included Instructions PDF for a bit more information). Also, you should check if you have disabled "Pixel Snap Transform" without meaning to do so. PS. I wish you would have just contacted the support email instead of writing here, since no notifications are sent for reviews.

불편한점들.. 1. UGUI 기반의 컴퍼넌트를 붙여쓰는 방식이 아니라. Mesh Renderer 를 이용해서 월드객채로 만듭니다 쓸때마다 RectTransform 으로 변환해야합니다. 2. UI 가 존재하는 영역의 크기에 따라 폰트 사이즈를 조절할 수 없습니다. 적당한 폰트의 크기를 찾기위해 수치를 입력하고 텍스트 위치를 수시로 옮겨야합니다. 3. 다른 텍스트 효과용 컴퍼넌트들과 같이 쓸 수 없습니다 왜냐면 UGUI object 가 아닌 월드 오브젝트로 메쉬를 만들어서 뿌리는 구조이기 때문입니다 shadow outline 등 사용 불가능합니다. 농락당한 기분이 드는 부분은 예제 영상이나 스샷에 welcome 폰트에 그림자가 붙어있는데 에셋을 사고 안에 구조를 보면 그림자용 welcome 을 따로 또 만들어서 아래 그림자 효과를 준거처럼 만들었다는 것입니다. 4. 인스펙터에서 수정하는 구조가 매우 불편하게 되어있습니다. 직관적이지 않습니다. 5. UGUI Text 보다 못한 기능들 - No Rich Text - No Best Fit - No OverflowControl 6. 게임을 만들고 출시해서 성과를 보거나 localization 용으로 글로벌 서비스 게임을 만드실 예정이라면 이 에셋은 엄청난 걸림돌이 될것입니다. 추천 : 영어권 개발자& NGUI 사용자 & 게임을 상업적으로 만드는것이아닌 취미로 개발하시는 분

Thank you for feedback. Based on google translation of your feedback, your assessment is correct that this asset is not good for trying to mix with UGUI. This asset was created way before the current Unity offering for building UI, so for any complex UI needs, it is recommended that you use the UGUI. This asset has a very specific niche which is still not fully answered by any other asset (afaik): 1. Uses MeshRenderer instead of the 2D Canvas rendering. 2. Works attached to a standard object (no 2D canvas nodes needed). When set to face camera, still renders nicely crisp text. 3. Uses the super-lightweight standard font rendering shader, instead of any complex shaders. 4. Uses the standard built-in dynamic font atlasing system, rather than needing to pre-bake fonts.

Sharp text but slow performance (In certain cases)

The text really looks super good and sharp in different resolutions. But if the size of texts is changed each update calls CacheFontForText, which makes my game unplayable on my IOS device. And since there is no source code included i can't find out why it is constantly updated and maybe disable it during scaling. Sadly i can't recomment this package.

That's the cost for getting so nice looking text - it needs to be rebuilt to atlas whenever new font size is taken. If you check the bottom center on example scene page 5, you can see how to do bit of smooth scaling without texture rebuilding, but whenever simply scaled like that, the text is a little bit less crispy.

Great plugin and great support

Text is far sharper and nicer than the native unity solutions and the plugin is easy to use and comes with good examples. Great support as well. I had an issue relating to Unity5's new 64 bit iOS compiler and when I emailed the creator he got back to me with possible solutions on the same day.

Worth every cent!

Wow, my life just got a LOT easier! This takes all the drama out of trying to get your fonts crisp and it's super easy to use. Now I can replace all my NGUI atlas fonts with dynamic fonts. Sure, I won't get the advantage of multiple fonts in 1 atlas, but I'm only using 1 font through my entire game anyway - so it's only 1 extra drawcall. If you've been confused with trying to get NGUI fonts to look good, do yourself a favor and try the free trial version (I did) - within minutes you'll decide it's worth buying. Suggestion to the developer - please add shadow effects as an option so the workaround isn't required - great asset though!

Awesome. We were having some trouble, sent Strobotnik a message and received a very quick response that solved the problems. Highly recommend purchasing. Trying to universally adjust Unity's GUI system isn't worth the time. Invest the money, save hours and use it for all projects.
