Difficult to Use

M_Tubatoon previous version 5.5.28
The only thing this asset seems to solve “instantly” is the visuals. You can add an Input Field. Great — now let’s enter some text. But wait… nothing happens? That’s because there’s no built-in mechanism for passing the input to other objects. You’ll probably start looking for an example. But you won’t find one. Looking into the code, the only event available is a generic “decision made.” That’s it. So yes, you can type into the box, but if you actually want the text to go anywhere or trigger something useful, you’ll be implementing it yourself. The List View suffers from the same fate: it looks nice, scrolls images, but doesn’t actually “do” anything. No selection logic, no events, no examples. Just the shell. And then there’s the manual. It’s oddly defensive, showing only the most trivial code snippets. No practical examples, no real-world use cases, no guidance on how to connect the pretty visuals into an actual system. Why!? For $44, the performance feels questionable. On the surface, it’s packaged like an all-in-one UI solution, but beneath that, it’s mostly presentation. You’ll still end up digging through the Unity manual for how to make things work. So when does this asset provide value for its price? Answer: when you only need appearances.

Great UI, Great Responsiveness
aminfarah1231on previous version 5.5.27
All UI looks clean and modern, very responsive. Everything works perfectly, super easy to setup. I use it mostly for testing before switching to dedicated UI, but great stuff with so much variety in options.

One of the best ui packs for sure

crazyg64on previous version 5.5.27
I'm super satisfied with this asset. While the review below me is kind of right in that there is a learning curve, once I started to play around with how everything works (also seeing how the demo scene was created and how everything is laid out was extremely helpful) I find it is relatively easy to create beautiful UI with great animations. It can definitely be a process to learn how the ui manager, window manager, etc. work but once you get in the flow it is super easy to put everything together and make it seamless.

NOT AS EASY AS ADVERTISED
krispybataaon previous version 5.5.25
All these reviews citing how "easy" this asset is fail to acknowledge just how much precursive knowledge is required to use this product. I bought this in a rush to complete a project and I have little to no Unity experience. This looked super good on paper and looked visually appealing sure, but I cannot get it to work on my game as the most basic desired feature to HAVE A PLAYER HEALTH BAR is so difficult to work from the "Type Mismatch" to the fact that the player bar is just not updating now even FOLLOWING THE LIMITED INFORMATION FROM THE PROVIDED DOCUMENTATION This asset is indeed well made but it is made for professionals as every little thing is hidden behind some infuriating layer of implementation making this ABSOLUTELY DIFFICULT TO USE ON A TIGHT DEADLINE DO NOT USE IF HIGHLY INEXPERIENCED, THIS IS NOT EASY FOR BEGINNERS.

Breaking Compatibility
RabberDakkon previous version 5.5.4
Important Notice: This developer has a trend of breaking compatibility in their updates. I have been using this asset, and due to compatibility breaks on two separate occasions, I had to spend considerable time modifying my project. Despite investing this time, the end results showed minimal improvements over the previous versions. While I believe breaking compatibility can be important when necessary (such as when Unity changed from Built-In to SRP), I consider the developer's apparent lack of concern for maintaining compatibility to be problematic. This suggests a deficiency in their ability to forecast future needs and design robust systems. I cannot recommend this asset to those seeking a stable project and wanting to focus on core development work. However, setting aside the compatibility issues, the asset's quality is excellent.

Each major release always comes with major changes and improvements. If you are upgrading from an older major release to a newer release (e.g. 4.x to 5.x), you should expect some of the previous stuff to break or require adjustments. However, if you update within the current release (e.g. 5.4 to 5.5), you won't have issues. This applies to most packages and even Unity. I appreciate your criticism, but saying "This developer has a trend of breaking compatibility" is a harsh statement, as my goal is to bring new features and improvements to the user base with new updates. I also deprecate the previous release before releasing the next major release, so you can always download/revert to the previous version without any problems.

フォントが置き換わらないUIがあります
hatomuneon previous version 5.5.24

It used to be good

DrzwiPercepcjion previous version 5.5.24
I have been using this asset for quite a long time and have generally been satisfied. Recently, however, I decided to upgrade, being more or less aware of the breaking change. From all the buttons, the button management script disappeared, and now I have to search through a dozen scenes in my project to find the missing scripts and point to the new manager script. But that's not enough, the new buttons consist of several elements just to have more animation between disabled, normal and highlighted states. So in fact, if I want to use the new button manager, I would have to create 237 of my buttons anew. Lots of work on something I don't need, because the animation I was using before was very simple and was completely enough for me. Anyway, the button hover is also hopeless. The moment you hover over the button, one of the state's opacity changes to 1 and the other to 0. Somewhere in the middle of this process the button as a whole is partially transparent and it just looks bad. Not to mention that the new buttons have an ugly shadow. So much for cosmetics. A much bigger problem is the localization. Previously, I would set custom content and on ONE element of text type I would attach the corresponding component. Now I have to do it on every sub-element. Indeed, supposedly this can be done with a script, but I have to specifically rewrite from my simple component to the script, in all 237 buttons, of course. I downloaded the update as usual, enjoying like a child with a new toy, and after the update I am sad like an average adult. There is such a rule, it is called KISS.

Sorry you had a bad experience. It looks like you upgraded (not just updated) from the previous version (v5.4 or earlier) released in 2022 (or earlier). There were many major changes in the new release, so this is expected. It's also stated in the 'Releases' tab. However, the visuals remain the same (compared to old version) and can still be fully customized/removed. Same for 'Use Custom Content'. You don't even have to use that option to enable localization anymore; you can just set the button text by calling ButtonManager.SetText(string) which is a dynamic method that can be used with localization tools. As for your other issue, I'm not sure if I understood your issue correctly, but I recommend creating a prefab of your objects/buttons so that you can change things like this at once instead of one by one.

Really amazing and well made asset that takes care of little nuances at runtime. No need to worry about handling exceptions
