PixelsHearton version 4.0.1
I made negative review before but after digging more in the asset I was able to make it work with Hurricane VR and VR Interactions Framework. Great Job I recommend it!

This is a delayed review. Used it in a large project, up until April of 2024, with a launcher app that bootstrapped other projects through addressables. Curved UI was only applied to the launcher menu. Anything besides the launcher was solely vanilla XR Toolkit and worked perfectly. Normally this would have been a bug report conversation, but ultimately we were rushed to finish, so no time for that, hence it's a review. For one the package has its own InputModule, as expected, but it doesn't have feature parity with the regular one or even XR Toolkit. e.g. 1) There's no update events for selected ui elements (we had issues with InputFields not updating), nor deselect events when switching from one element straight to another. 2) There was no two hand support, which I guess was mentioned in the readme, but it's generally unacceptable if it's not mentioned in the overview where it says it supports Unity XR Toolkit fully, including Oculus/Meta with hand tracking, which is misleading, because anyone will expect this to work out of the box. Documentation says "Can't use both hands at the same time. Under the hood, CurvedUI tricks Unity into thinking the VR controller is a mouse. We made this choice to make sure the asset is compatible with existing Unity UI elements.". Unity XR Toolkit works with both devices/hands and it allows for both touch and mouse as well, so there's obviously a better way to do this, which is also open to everyone to consult, through its package. Finally, the clicking and hovering (raycasting in general) was very inconsistent and buggy. Same menu with XR Toolkit behaved as expected. Even removed any and all scales within, but still unreliable.

Saved tons of time making UI in Steam VR
mannydatheron previous version 3.4
I had some initial issues getting it running due to me initially using the old input manager but the developer responded quickly and figured out the issues I was having. This works great with Steam VR to make your UI buttons work hassle free with ray pointers.

Not the best solution but OK

It's an OK asset, but only if you implement it before you start working on your UI and build around it's limitations / with them in mind. It doesn't support scaled UI elements, everything needs to have a scale of 1,1,1 in order for it to work properly - this sole thing disqualifies it as a reliable tool. If you want to convert your exisiting UI into this, forget about it if it has any level of complexity. Lots of other issues with it, but I guess if you grab this asset and work with it from the start - you can achieve a decent look! I'm giving it a 3 stars which does not mean it's bad at all.

Errors when importing

Tiberius1701on previous version 3.3
Shows promise, but I couldn't get it to run with VRIF and the ten Canvas' I already created. It would be great if I could just put a curved UI in my scene, but as other users have commented, this package doesn't play nicely with others. When updated and fixed, I would give it another shot.

The asset works well, is fast to setup and when you need support from the developer you get it quickly. Be careful if you use it with TextMeshPro and have important performance constraints though.

Great asset with great support! VR support is a plus

We integrated curved UI into our VR project while also using VRTK. Curved UI was easy and simple to implement. We used Unity 2018 and 2019 with no problems. However we had some issues and contacted the creator several times and he was open, patient and supportive to offering help when we didn't understand some aspect of the curved UI asset. Will continue to use on projects in the future!
