boombabyon version 3.7.0
This is something I don´t see very often, you import this asset, make the quick setup, hit the combine button and everything is... combined. 3 minutes. It looks exactly like before, only now my character produces not even 20% of the draw calls it made before. This is AMAZING. Especially because I tried several other paid solutions here from the store before, without success, wasting two full days and asking myself if I maybe made a total crazy character that can´t be merged for whatever reason. They all gave cryptic error messages and did nothing and asked me to look into this setting and that setting and there and there - man, I didn´t want to study scripts, I wanted something that just does its job. This is the very first one that simply WORKS right out of the box! I LOVE this asset.

Amazing Tool for Character Optimization!

Diablo3496on version 3.7.0
This asset saved me hours of manual work! I use it to combine multiple skinned meshes from my characters into a single optimized mesh — and it works flawlessly. The batching reduction is incredible, especially for mobile projects. It’s super easy to set up, intuitive to use, and even supports atlasing, materials, and blend shapes. After combining, everything (animations, bones, etc.) stays perfectly functional. The results are clean, and performance improvements are instantly noticeable. I especially love that it supports complex characters with armor parts and accessories — no issues at all. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to reduce draw calls and boost performance without losing visual quality. We even integrated it with our own custom queue system, allowing us to automatically process and combine multiple characters one after another. It fits seamlessly into our pipeline and makes large-scale character optimization incredibly easy. Thanks for this Asset !

Acissatharon previous version 3.5.0
Picked this up to combine a character that had multiple sub skinned meshes with 2-5 materials on each slot. Super easy, just put a component on the parent, adjust settings to what you want and click a single button. That's it. I did run into an odd Texture2D.SetPixels error, but the developer was very quick to test it and give me some ideas (oddly it worked perfectly with the exact same settings for him, so maybe a Windows issue) but one of the work arounds (turn Merged Tiled Textures from Improved to Skip or Legacy) worked perfectly. Overall it's a great tool and the developer was super helpful as well. I highly recommend this and I will now be checking out their other tools as well.

Almost very very easy to setup and run at runtime

porridgeknighton previous version 3.4.14
Great asset! Set it up without hardly a glance at the documentation on the modular character in my scene. It was nearly as easy as I hoped. I got it working on the mesh combine button in the editor inspector at runtime but not in the script API call at runtime even though it said it was. Lo and behold I hadn't turned on the read/ write on my model. It was right there in the trouble shooting of the online documentation. Summary really fast efficient and easy to use and I almost got away without reading anything lol.

Not quite up to par.

Hunanbeanon previous version 3.4.14
This is a good attempt, and partially does what it should. a glaring issue is the fact that lets say you have a Head, Mouth, Tongue, etc.. they each have a Blendshape named MouthOpen. when you use this to combine them, you end up with MouthOpen(0), MouthOpen(1), MouthOpen(2), etc. this is not at all helpful. the senior add-on, Mesh Baker does Not have this problem (You can literally go grab the free version of Mesh Baker and see for yourself.) I pointed it out to this dev of this junior app, but got a canned response. "Hey! This is because there may be problems if there are more than 1 blendshape with the same name in the mesh resulting from the merge, so the SMC renames blendshapes with repeated names!" Hopefully they will will improve their plugin to the point that is expected for what i consider basic function. it does technically reduce draw calls, so i will give it a couple stars. It needs improvement.
