Not worth the money.

The asset works as described, and I went through the tutorial and even checked all the addons. But the whole time I kept asking myself why?
Why import from CSV when all the data can be edited directly inside the csv file? Why save data through such a bulky, unintuitive table instead of using simple ScriptableObjects?
The built-in inventory, progression, and achievement systems seem tailored for very specific games, it feels like you end up making a game for the tool, not using a tool for your game.
I bought it on sale with all addons but was quite disappointed. $70 is a lot, and splitting asset functionality into separate paid addons feels questionable. I’m also worried about long-term support, the developer has already abandoned older versions of other assets before and asks extra payment for updates.

I’d like to clarify a few things regarding some of the points you mentioned. It seems that a few of Databrain’s key features may have been overlooked such as the dropdown data object field for quickly referencing objects, the ability to create custom inspector UI for your DataObjects, and the built-in data management system that handles both initial and runtime data. Which allows you to serialize data directly and rebuild the runtime state of objects efficiently.
In addition, Databrain includes a complete high-level visual scripting system with custom node creation, finite state machine (FSM) nodes, and more. All included in the default Databrain package. It’s designed to provide a unified workflow for managing data and logic that goes far beyond what standard ScriptableObjects offer.
Of course, whether all of these systems are useful depends on the scope and needs of each individual project. Databrain is built to be flexible: you can use only what fits your workflow, or take advantage of the full toolset for larger, data-driven architectures.
Regarding long-term support:
I’ve been an Asset Store publisher for over a decade, continuously updating and supporting my tools. Paid upgrades are introduced only for major new versions, which helps sustain development and provide meaningful improvements. The upgrade from Databrain 1 to 2 was offered free of charge to all existing users. While older assets may eventually be deprecated, because it's impossible to support all versions, they always remain available for download to all previous buyers.

I'm very satisfied with the Databrain suite. In fact, I think it's one of my favorite assets. The interface is very easy to use and understand, and allows me to organize my data objects in a useful way. The modular add-ons integrate seamlessly, and offer even more simplification of my project's data management. There were a few things I had to wrap my head around, but the documentation is so clean and organized that I never have much trouble. My only concern is that the developer might be spread a bit thin between the different modules, so updates tend to be slow. That being said, the current functionality is well worth it.

Been using an older asset (which is no longer supported). Since it was kind of working, I was hesitant to upgrade to a different tool for the same (if it ain't broken ... ). However, I finally did update to this asset, and yes, it is a gamechanger with way more functionalities like copy, odin support etc, and on top of that freebies like an event bus, logic module etc. If you are using scriptable objects, you should buy this!

I used to use Databox, and although it had flaws in its workflow, the idea was there to make Scriptable Objects easy to work with, to streamline the process and avoid the need to write a custom editor every time you wanted to create a database.
This is all that and more. It completely replaces the need for traditional SO and makes it effortless to use data objects. No need to setup Singletons holding your SO library, no need to create a custom editor to display a tree of each type of SO, no need to manually input the data from your game designers. It feels official, intuitive, and joins the limited niche of workflow assets that are always useful to import.
The developer is attentive and thorough, and at times where I tried to find a way to implement it in my project, they offered examples, including code, to explain how they'd recommend creating the architecture with the specific needs of the project in mind.
This is an excellent asset that will only grow in value over time as it gets more features an addons, and continues to be an easy recommendation.

It works great, but I think the initialize register is quit boring! eg:"data.RegisterInitializationCallback(Ready);" in start method, and then can we use the data in it. This is useful if the data base is large when initialize takes long time, but in many case for tiny project, this is not a good deal.
So i wounder is there a way that I can manual call the dataBase Initialize synchronously in the Awake() method on the game launch, then in the other part of the game, i can use data safely and more comfortable in the Start() or other place without register the callback Ready method.

There is also another problem I met when using your tool first time, and it cost me much time to findout what happened. this is not a bug, but I think maybe you could notice it in the doc.
Say I have a hp int variable field and make it runtime savable. Also I add an event on it. And in my ui system, i referenced it`s runtimeobject, and register it`s event to update my ui content when it changes. This works good at first, but after I call the Load() method for the database, the event not work any more. Now I know the deserialize method break the runtime object. But it really cost much time to findout what happened. Also if there is an official way to avoid this, please let me know.

Read documentation before buying. Unfortunately, it's quite bare-bones as for my needs and IMO for the price overall.
The main issue with this asset is that it does not support double type out of the box with its Stats add-on. Which makes it useless for an idle clicker game, where Int32 and floats numbers are usually the first 10 minutes of gameplay.
There's a fair bit of commented code and TODOs in it.
For other games, I'd give it 4 stars maybe. It'd be definitely "ultimate" if it would support double type.

One of the great features of Databrain is its flexibility—you can easily extend it by adding custom DataObject classes with your own value types. For example, in your case, you could recreate the StatsValue type using double values.

I use it to store in-game static data and it works great.
I have a small request, the blackboard string type opens as text, it would be great if you make it textbox.

This is a great asset to get started with data-driven programming! I gave it 4 stars in version 1.0, but I've revised it to 5 stars in version 2.0 because the asset is really great.

many of the features are broken up into add-on.
without add-on, this asset is just a “simple” data container, and that's pretty disappointing.
seller is constantly adding add-ons, which indirectly means that there will be no significant updates to this asset in the future.
it's definitely a good asset for non-programmers, but for professional programmers, price and features don't make it attractive.
edit. as the seller claims, if a new feature is added to this asset rather than 'improving convenience', I will give 5 stars at any time. this asset just doesn't meet my standards, but it's definitely a good asset.

1. Databrain's Functionality: Databrain is far more than just a "simple" data container. It boasts a range of features, including a comprehensive workflow for managing both initial and runtime data, with the capability to save and restore runtime data from files. It also offers tagging and search functionality, along with features like Google Sheets and CSV file imports. Additionally, it comes equipped with custom class and field attributes and a powerful data object property drawer, which simplifies the assignment of data objects from custom scripts. This property drawer also allows for the visualization of all fields and custom editors within the Unity Inspector (version 1.3).
2. Updates and Development: I'm unsure where you obtained the information about "no significant updates," but I want to assure you that I am continually enhancing Databrain with major new features. Feedback and suggestions from users, which I actively gather through my Discord server, are integrated into the asset to ensure its ongoing improvement.
3. Add-ons and Development Focus: The inclusion of add-ons with Databrain was part of the original plan. Currently, there's only one missing add-on (Dialogue), which has been delayed as I prioritize enhancing the existing add-ons and assets over continually introducing new ones. Apart from the Dialogue add-on, no other add-ons are currently on the roadmap.
